The shape of voice / A silent voice
Possibly the best and most relatable movie I have ever seen. I cried for more than half an hour straight while watching It is about a lot of things, but also about one thing: communication Without communication, an understanding cannot be reached. Without communication, thoughts and ideas die with their host. It made me realize that there was more than one way to not communicate. And it made me think about a lot of things I have been thinking about for a long time with a new light. About the power of the individual, the butterfly effect of social interaction, the difference between secrets and lies. Sometimes, I feel naive for being optimistic about anything. But this movie makes me feel like maybe miscommunication can be overcome and people can really understand each other. Not for the feint of heart, but I would recommend it for anyone. It is very serious though, and covers bullying and depression very thoroughly, so if you can't watch it, that's okay too.
