I like some of Das Racist's stuff, but I can see why people would dislike them
My favorite recent hip-hop acts are probably El-P and Killer Mike:
I don't know as much about hip-hop as I'd like to, though, honestly
And yeah I agree that Pitchfork is probably responsible for the proliferation of a lot of overrated stuff

I thought the Get Lucky/Le Freak/Another Star medley was cool, though Stevie is sounding a little rough these days.
Also Daft Hug is heartwarming
To be honest I don't know enough about drum machines to get excited about the AIRA, though it has generated quite a bit of hype

Dang, that first song is amazing.
PL posted this on his tumblr and i was not aware of it's existence
It's quite enjoyable, but it's apparently not in-game. Absolutely hate it when good songs go unused on vgs

Holy crap George Duke/Hermeto Pascoal/Cal Tjader collab
EDIT:
Yeah, I know, trap music, gross, but I love the melodic synth on this track

I'd heard of Kavinsky from the Drive soundtrack, but I'd never really listened to his stuff before. I like it! And you're right, he definitely has a more distinctive melodic style than Todd Terje.

I've been getting into Kate Bush lately. Hounds of Love is a great album:
Like Bjork, I didn't really like her voice at first but it's grown on me

Kate Bush is one of my favorite artists, even though I only managed to discover she existed a couple short years ago. Listening to her stuff never gets old.

Fun fact: the machine in the Cloudbusting video was designed by H.R. Giger
I think it's cool that Kate Bush was so involved in every aspect of her music (writing, production, music videos and live stage direction, etc.). And that she stood up to a major label at age nineteen. I'm almost 21 and what the hell have I done
edit: she was also apparently the first female artist to have a self-written #1 Billboard hit, which I didn't know!

So Squarepusher's doing a weird new project with a guitar-playing robot:
Not sure if I like it or not. I feel like the best parts are parts that he could've played on physical instruments - the "impossible" breakdown in the middle is just self-indulgent.
Still, it's an interesting project, and I'm curious for the album. Squarepusher's output might be uneven but you can't criticize the dude for being repetitive or unadventurous.

I've realised that the wiggles songs I heard when I was six probably explain why I recognised morningtown ride 13 years later without being able to figure out why
