Hatman looked in the rubble of the old house, and in the dusty catacombs, he saw a glint of silver. "What's this, then?" he had wondered. He glanced to get a closer look and pulled it out. "Damn..." He was holding a pistol, well, at least, it seemed to be. It had a button with a picture of a cutlass on the side. "Hmm..." Hatman pressed the shiny red button as he watched in wonder. He felt it rumble in his hands as he watched as the barrel went upright, and another trigger grew out of the other side of the blade. Four corkscrews grew out of the hilt and the space in between them filled in looking like a sharpened pillar. He presses the trigger and it transforms back into a pistol. He put the pistol into somewhere in hammerspace, looking as innocent as a bluebird. Suddenly, he noticed the giant spider in the rubble in front was burning. His eyes sparkled and he gasped before walking back to where the outside of the house would be. He took a glance at Jordan, before asking, "Whoa, who did that? Jordan?" as he double-glanced towards the boy resting on the ground.

Right swerved toward the burning trees and dragged Eemp and Rong along with him. He surveyed the surrounding trees with a determined look on his face. Sadly, the fire was still going strong and it didn't look like it would go out for quite a while. With a "Harrumph," he twisted around and glanced at each of the contestants, probably looking for weaknesses. Rong stared at the burning trees with excitement in her eyes and with a rather frightening grin. Her tiny, sharp yellow teeth were visible in the light from the fire, but nobody was watching.

Yume yawned softly and also lay down. But, she kept her guard up, well at least a little. She took a peak at Hatman and gazed at the pile of spiders while swishing her tail back and forth. Some bugs here and there buzzed around her head. Her ears twitched as they flew by, but it didn't seem like they bothered her.

Vasily stood rather... gracefully and smiled a little. The smile quickly turned into a frown, though, and he shook his head. He quickly eyed Yume, then looked up at the sky.

Jordan was already fast asleep. He looked... somewhat peaceful for once. There were bags under his eyes, but he seemed happy. As if sleeping was the only way to escape from the harsh reality. He murmured something while sleeping and smiled.

Soon, there was a low hum which quickly grew into a loud buzzing sound. Jordan's eyes fluttered open and he immediately sat up. There was a giant swarm of over-sized bees that Jordan saw earlier wielding weapons in the distance, and they grew closer and closer fairly quickly. Jordan whimpered and closed his eyes. Vasily readied his weapon with a sly smile while saying, "Now th's'll be fun." Rong's smile grew even bigger, and she snorted some smoke from her mouth. Right jabbed at Rong with his snout, saying that she shouldn't do anything stupid. She simply grunted and continued to grin. Yume shot up and stared at the bees. Her back turned into an arch, and her hair stood up. Hatman dug into hammerspace, looking for an useful weapon.

Then, one of the bees lunged at one of the contestants...

The unlucky drone was immediately washed in flame.

"Alright, you can't tell me off for that one, the trees are already burning and it was up in the air."

"...I suppose not." Rong took this as consent to keep going crazy and did so, taking a few bees out before they could even leave the group. Once she did, though, more bees descended, buzzing furiously, looking slightly comical with their weapons, but threatening nonetheless. It was only a few out of the group and everybody could get through the wave with minor injuries. The rest of the bees flew on.

"Bee-"

"No! I'm not gonna let you do that! No bee puns!" Rong glared at the red dragon before squinting at the retreating bees. "Why're they running away? Sending only a few down was stupid."

"Oh god, I forgot about what the mannequin was running from!" Right suddenly scanned the flames once more, afraid that by this time, this vague beast would have caught up, but nothing came. "Alright. Eventually, the fire will have to die down. Trees can't last forever. And whatever this thing is, I suppose five of us can handle it...right? Right." Though it would have made him look a fool, Right was beginning to hope that the mannequin was running from nothing.

If you were able to look at the forest from the sky, you would see a large forest fire. Fire doesn't mess around. But you would also see, at one end, the fire quickly extinguishing as a shadowy force swept through towards the clearing.

As Alex was running he suddenly encountered a heat wave, and looking ahead he confirmed. the manikin was head right for a huge fire, reasons being clear, the manikin was somehow afraid of him, and it more then likely didn't know that fire was hot.

"god dammit, this is gonna suck"

With that he raised his sword over his head and just let out a loud yell and his sword suddenly got a darker shade of green and if you looked closely you could see swirls of wind spinning around it. those who could detect magic lvls though would see Alex's reserves dropping like a stone as his technique burned through it almost as fast as the forest fire. quickly accelerating well pass human maximum Alex gets right beside the manikin and trips it, it going at the speed it was had no chance to react and fell face first into the dirt. now that it was stopped Alex turned his sword all the way off before he was completely drained, but still suffered from a mild dizzy spell from using way too much magic too quickly. Alex used the bug he had killed to hold the manikin down while he used his other arm in an attempt to explain that 'fire = bad'.

"Bees? Lord." Hatman took the gun out of hammerspace, "Why is it a gun? I put in back as a sword." he asked. Anyways, he pressed the button on it and transformed to it's sword form. "Well, let's do a little bit of exterminating then." He took a slice of the bees flying in front of him and suddenly, bats came out of the sword to add more damage to the equation. A couple of clusters of bees near him went together and made a wall of bees and they were advancing. Suddenly, his sword was surrounded by a bone casing as he started to glow a light blue. A skull appeared on the hilt as the button for transformation went to the left side of the hilt. Hatman's eyes narrowed as he jumped up and started cleaving the wall of bees.
All in all, he took out a fifth of the bee invasion, before his sword defected to it's original form, and he was knocked out on the dirt, with cuts and bruises all over him. Before he was knocked out, he said one word: "Bugger."

On the ground, The manikin was starting to become disoriented. Navigating simply by sensing lives had become impossible- it was absolutely lost in the amount of life around it. It's eyes too, weren't helping. They certainly gave the manikin a good amount of sight- but the manikin couldn't focus. The fractured, kaleidoscopic images entering the bug eyes was simply too much for the manikin to focus on. With no method of "seeing", it had no method to continue moving again.
Still, the Manikin didn't want the time to go to waste. It brought out mouths, and fell to the floor, contorting it's body to fill as many mouths as possible. All animals and insects stayed as far from the Manikin as possible.

Alex stood bemused. The manikin was flailing again... he didn't feel particularly inclined to getting into it's teething range. He was starting to get the picture that the manikin was extremely... primal, going by it's base instincts. However, there was something else to it too... some sort of intelligence, but... not quite?

"Damn shit fuck damn shit!" Niko swore. "She should've changed back when there was a lull, she shouldn't still be out there, I should be the one fighting that battle!"

"But you aren't, Niko, and there's not time now." Lainey moved to Niko's side, grabbing her hand and squeezing. "Can you coach her from here?"

Niko scowled. "It's not like she doesn't know what's going on in here while she's corporeal. If I tried to coach her, though, she would wait for me to tell her what to do instead of doing what she thinks best. It'll slow her reflexes and make her hesitate." She shook her head. "It's a bad idea. There's nothing I can do from here."

Lainey's face went pale. "D'you think those bees have the same venom as the little ones, back home?"

"There is no reason to hypothesize otherwise," Lissa answered. "Why?" Even as she spoke, her face fell. "Oh. We're allergic."

'Dammit, Niko,' Yume thinks to herself, 'it'd be nice to know what you think I should do, at least.' Her fur prickling, she backs away from the horde of bees--bees carrying weapons, no less, and probably weapons coated in bee venom. One of them darts at her, and she dodges, whirling to face it but keeping her ears pointed back, at the rest of the horde.

'These are just bugs,' she reasons as it turns to fly at her again. 'I eat bugs. Piece of piss. I'll just... try not to get eaten... by these bigs. Bugs! They're... really big bugs.' She jumps sideways, then leaps up onto the bee's back, digging her claws into its exoskeleton for purchase.

She's too heavy for it; it crashes unceremoniously to the ground. They roll, and Yume pulls free one paw to swipe at the skinny joint between its thorax and abdomen. If she can get rid of its stinger, she'll have only to worry about the blade it carries.

The two parts separate easily, and the main body stops rolling, Yume still on top of it. Its wings buzz furiously, battering her with all the strength of silken scarves. She yanks out the leg holding the weapon with her teeth.

It thrashes beneath her and dies.

Yume turns to face the rest of the invasion...

and the vast majority of it hasn't even bothered to take notice of them. Most of the swarm is now only a dark cloud on the horizon, and what's left is being quickly dispatched by the dragons.

Yume changes into her humanoid form, gagging at the smell of dead insects. "I'm really, really glad that's over," she said, sighing.
