SpoilerAs the title suggests, this is Grand Battle Season 2, Battle 2. More after the crazy-ass story post.
In a cabin hidden somewhere in spacetime, an author- A Wordsmith- sat before his desk. From outside, he could hear it- though he knew little of what it was. All he knew, was that the simple wood would not hold off the Angel of Death for long.
He was not a God, and he knew it. Still, quill in hand, he knew of one means by which he could attain immortality.
He would be forgotten. Faceless, known only by his penname. The window of his cabin already began to fade to black, and a rhythmic tapping began on his door.
Sensing the black angel's approach, The Wordsmith wrote.
***7000 Years Later***
Nine men stood in circle, each clad in a black cloak. The thing they sought- that fateful tome of knowledge- they had at last found. All across the multiverse they had searched, countless expanses, infinite planes. In all that time, the Gentlemen had finally concluded that the book was nowhere.
And so nowhere was where they met, and the book lay before them.
With a slender hand, one of the Gentlemen lifted the book, and read aloud.
Across countless layers of space, the Gods had grown restless. It comes then only naturally, that they would devise a game to entertain themselves, one in which the expense of mortals would become the play of the Gods.
The game would be called The Grand Battle.
There would be many iterations of this battle, each a long and perilous tale in its own right.
Still, there would be one of these Battles, which I feel to be most peculiar.
I have written about these battles before, though simplified were they as children's tales. Still, I feel the time has come for me to write another, one which tells of the battle as it truly happened. For you see, it is not art that imitates life, and it is not life that imitates art, rather it is a single bidirectional function, in which the universe slowly but surely constructs several layers of existence.
I feel I must at least once, use this function, and write this book. To those who will read it before this tenth battle, it will be a prophecy. To those who will read it after, a documentary. But to me, it is something even more valuable. This book and this battle shall be constructed together, each dependent on the other. As the butterfly shall flap its wings, a great storm will arrive. This same storm shall carry this butterfly to the place where it shall meet God, and from there the butterfly shall achieve enlightenment.
I am not a prophet, I am not an intellectual. I am merely a butterfly, who dreams he is a man.
"The next page describes the contestants." the Gentleman finally said of his own accord. "It is time for the tenth Battle, and so it is time for us to bring it about."
"This is finally a test of our faith" another Gentleman said. "If we stray from the book's writing now, all shall be for naught."
"I will not allow this to happen." the first Gentleman spoke again. "I shall be the sole one to hold the book, this shall minimize the chances of causality failing."
"And if you betray us?" another asked.
"I will not." was his simple answer.
Thanks to the folks over at #GrandBattle for the name ideas. Without them the title would be significantly easier to remember the spelling of, and as a consequence significantly more boring.
WOO! Grand Battle season 2 battle 2 is here! For those who haven't been following this ridiculously long series, this is an RP battle where you shall fight with a sword of ink and a shield of text.
And by sword I mean pen, and by shield I mean FUCKING TEXTWALL.
To put it simply, each round the 8 contestants will get dropped off in some random arena. You'll spend a little while (or a long while) rping there, under the premise that you're all supposed to be killing each other. You're not actually allowed to kill anyone though, rather you'll want to focus on storytelling, and making everything interesting.
At the end of the round, someone will be chosen to be eliminated. That person will then write a scene in which their character dies, and they're out.
I'm really horrible at explaining things, so just take a look at some of the other battles to get an idea:

A few things specific to this battle:
-Your character has no idea what's going on here. They didn't 'enter' the battle, and none of the Gentlemen directly approached them. Rather, they were simply teleported straight into null-space.
-Unlike in TGB, the Gentlemen aren't direct metaphors for the posters. This probably won't affect the game directly, but I still feel I should mention it.
You also may have noticed that my Grandmaster is dead. I have no idea if this will affect anything, but hey, it could be fun!

Weapons/Abilities: What is it that your character can do? Be as vague or specific as you like, though I recommend trying to be more vague.
Description: 'Who they are.' Physical appearance, as well an overview of their personality. Fairly straightforward.
Biography: A brief history of your character. Who were they back in their home dimension? What have they done with themselves?

Username: Plumfinder.
Name: Loran Twight.
Gender: Male.
Race: Creeper
Color: 400080
Weapons/Abilities: Combined with Description.
Description: "There is a generally accepted definition of Creepers; It is said that we are ruthless murderers who creep up on our victims while they are sleeping. It is said that we stab them with hot steel to make it clear to everyone who's work it was. It is said, even, that we commit these crimes for sleights as small as the failure to greet one of us. Seeing that we rarely fail to kill someone who sees us, this knowledge is surprisingly correct."
Loran smirked. He had been stalked for an hour know, and he had not yet attempted to get rid of those following him. Most of the time, introducing himself did the trick.
A dagger was thrown at him. He heard it coming, and lazily raised his hand, catching it in mid-air.
"Did you really think it was that easy?" He lifted the piece of cloth covering his eyes. There was nobody in the room. Worse, he was not holding a dagger.
"Bloody hell... Not again."
Creepers are completely black humanoïd creatures, but with pointy fingers and toes, though they are not sharp. Their eyes are of a deep liquid looking purple. Over the years, their bodies have adapted to their creeping habits. They can sneak, climb, and hide like pro's, and have no sense of morality.
Loran wears loose gray robes, beneath which he carries a belt stuffed with daggers, his prefered weapons. He wears a bandage over his eyes because they are overly sensitive, and relies mostly on his other senses. He suffers from occassionaly hallucinations, so vivid that he can not tell them apart from reality (as evidenced by the purple text: He was not stalked, and noone threw a dagger at him).
Biography: Loran was exiled from the homeland of the Creepers when his eyes got damaged during an attempt of his to kill a human king. This gave him a grudge towards all the other Creepers, but he realizes he would never be able to kill them. Instead, he roams other lands, killing for money and sports, lamenting his existance. He had a brief period of happines during a short relationship with a human female. In the end, this only left him further damaged (and her a headless corpse) when he found out she was a bounty hunter, out to kill him the moment he trusted her. It is a good thing, he would later say, that he never trusts anyone.
Did I do it right?

Race: Half-Oni
Color: FF8040
Weapons/Abilities: Wears a set of gauntlets and greaves. His race gives him higher-than average strength and agility. Can learn the physical moves of an enemy, and, to a very lesser extent, learn the non-physical ones as well.
Description: Greyve tends to be a bit playful outside of battle, with a somewhat whitty and mischeavious nature; although he does act serious when the time demands it. However, inside of battle, he seems to lose control and be put under a sort of assasssin's high, if you will. As for his looks, he has a long, dark brunette hair. He has a large body frame with toned muscles. His skin is a darker shade than normal, as if in a permanent tan. He is fairly tall, around 6 foot 3 inches. He has a small, skin-covered horn protruding from his forehead over his right eye, splitting his hair.
Biography: Greyve didn't really fit in as a youngster, but he never let this get the better of him. In fact, he finds this a blessing, as it allowed him to roam the world freely. Through his travels, he was often the target of passerby crooks who would tried to mug, or in some cases, kill him. These conflicts led to Greyve gaining a lust for combat. So to kill the boredom of his lonesome travels, he started fighting random strangers, applied to tournaments, and just generally fought anything he could..And now he's here, in a place with with what looks like competent fighters. Greyve couldn't be happier even if he knew what was going on.
EDIT: I'll draw up a pic later when I feel up to it

SpoilerWill was quite startled when he appeared several feet above the floor. He was even more startled when he didn't fall, but instead remained suspended in midair, directly in the centre of the room. An oddly familiar voice came out of hidden speakers- "I'm going to bring the gravity online now. Keep calm." Will knew it from somewhere, but he couldn't quite remember where.
A deep, thrumming hum began to permeate the room, and Will felt himself being drawn slowly towards the floor. He was soon gently pressed into the soft, cushioned surface, and after a few moments, the pull was approximately that of normal gravity.
Soon, the hum died away, and Will just lay there. Okay, he thought, gravity. Artificial gravity. That means, then- Space. "The final frontier." Right. But that doesn't make sense. The displacement was supposed to be directly along the t-axis, with no- Shit. "Forgot to account for Earth's displacement." Lucky I landed somewhere with air. "Almost too lucky." Yeah. Even with a massive ship, the odds of being picked up at random are astronomical. Which means someone knew I'd be here. "And when." So who could it be, and how did they know? "And who's talking right now?"
Will froze. Wait, that was my voice, my thoughts. "And yet your mouth hasn't moved since you got now." Slowly, he got to his feet, listening intently. Okay, if you're reading my thoughts- "I'm not reading your thoughts. Turn around."
If Will had had a better sense of drama, he would have slowly turned his head, seeing the screen first in his periphery, then more and more as he turned, eventually realizing that it was himself on the screen and whispering "You..." into the tense silence.
Instead, he just whipped his head around, locked his eyes on the screen, and said, "Oh, shit."
The Will on the screen sighed. "I'm afraid so. It's worse than that, too- The first time through, we materialized in the engine room of an alien warship several hundred billion years after now. When creating the Time-Axis Transmitter, we made a mistake in the calculations- the formation of a wormhole requires much more energy that we expected, and in order for it to fully establish, a certain amount of extra energy is required on the arrival end, or else the wormhole will just delay its arrival. The aliens had poor shielding on their reactor, and the leaking radiation triggered the wormhole's arrival. We arrived, fell to the deck, and were promptly arrested and imprisoned. Our cell was small and dark, and the automated food dispenser spat out some sort of brownish gruel."
"They didn't speak English or German, so we had no way to communicate with them. It was a moot point, though- they all died a few days later. Apparently, they had eliminated all disease by then, so when we arrived carrying a bit of the flu, their immune systems, never having encountered a disease before, were completely overpowered. We were left alone on a ship designed for a crew of five hundred, trapped in a cell with only gruel to keep us alive."
"After a few days, we managed to escape the cell, leaving us in an only marginally better situation. We were free, though, and that was something. Twenty-five years later, we made it to a planet. By that point, we'd learned the aliens' language and the basics of how to fly the ship, and with the money we made by selling it, we were able to start working. Our goal was to prevent that whole situation from ever happening- if we could intercept the wormhole beforehand, we would be able to arrive on our own terms and-" Something beeped, and the Will on the screen looked down. "Almost out of time. Listen, there are videos on the computer system to explain the rest. There are two important things for you to do: first, establish the stable time-loop. The coordinates for a solar flare are stored in the computer- use it as an exit for the wormhole. It'll give you about ten years to get this situation set up. All the instructions are in the computer. Follow them exactly."
"Second, you have to investigate. I'm about to mysteriously disappear, and I have no idea why. When our first iteration came through, he just vanished in the middle of his explanation. The second was confused, and he had a fairly hard time of things- Number One had been planning to teach Two in person, so none of the automated systems you'll have were there. When the time came for Two to explain, he had everything prepared for Three to learn on his own. When I arrived, this video told me that I was the fifteenth iteration to be investigating and that all the data our previous iterations had found was in the computer. You are number sixteen, and their data, as well as mine, is all there. Hopefully, you can figure out why it happens and maybe preve-"
The Will on the screen vanished, leaving the Will in the room all alone. A timer set the door to open, and Will explored the ship. He found a computer terminal and sat down, and helpful instructions written by himself began to teach him how to use the system.
Four years later, he brought his ship, the Timeless, into an empty section of space, which, fourteen years prior, had been the site of a solar flare. The star had long since left, rotating inside a galaxy that was hurtling through space. This is it, he thought to himself. Start the timer. He pressed a button, and the ship moved backwards through time, arriving near a star just after a massive solar flare sent a burst of energy through the star system.
About ten years later, he sat on the bridge of the Timeless, floating in a specific location in deep space. He had continued investigating thoroughly, but still he had no idea what actually happened. He knew he was going to vanish into thin air in about five minutes, but he had no idea what to expect. All he'd managed in his years of research and investigation was to eliminate a few more possibilities.
A timer hit zero, activating a pulse of energy that triggered a wormhole in the receiving bay. The teleprompter activated, and he began to speak to himself. Several minutes later, an indicator beeped- time was almost up. He finished up his instructions, then vanished into the unknown, leaving another Will to complete the cycle again.
Weapons/Abilities: Will, in a desire to be prepared for wherever he vanishes to, is wearing a jumpsuit equipped with heating and cooling pads. Its numerous pockets are filled with a variety of things, mostly survival gear and data chips. Some items of note are a mid-range laser pistol, a multi-tool, and a data-card reader.
Description: Will has shortish brown hair and a matching beard. He is 5'11", in decent shape, and wearing a jungle-camo jumpsuit with numerous pockets.
He's seen a lot of very strange things over the course of his investigations, so the unusual or absurd won't phase him. He is logical and rational and almost frustratingly calm, but deliberately antagonizing him or hampering his work will annoy him to no end. He is not devoid of morals, but whatever his goal, he will work unceasingly to achieve it, often neglecting other people. (There's a reason that, in all of his sixteen different timelines and counting, not once has he formed any sort of meaningful relationship.)

Weapons/Abilities: Apathy has a solid stripe of red that covers the outsides of both of her arms which allows her to perform electric magic. She can jump to incredible heights (topping off at about 40 feet), and is quite athletic in that sense. She carries a dagger sashed to her belt, but can barely use it.
Description: Despite what the name implies, Apathy is actually not usually incredibly sad. That said, she still looks bored and tired at almost all times, and there are tears always welling in her eyes, even when there is no reason to have them. It's permanent. She wears dark blue clothing and gloves that stretch halfway up her arm, but she wears a long sleeve shirt over them. She wears rectangular glasses. She is not an incredibly nice person, and tends to speak as such. She also has a bit of nonsense flowing through her head and sometimes she'll have bouts of it.
Biography: Apathy was raised in a rough family and rough neighborhood, and her parents were killed by hoodlums when she was 11. Though an orphanage took her in, she ran away and started her life anew; she hardly remembers the incident, and if someone were to ask her about it she could only provide a fuzzy recollection of the events, and it would sound incredibly similar to most other murders. However, at 16 she noticed she was growing odd symbols on her arms and began to feel an immense pain, so unbearable she nearly became suicidal to get rid of it; it lasted for only two hours yet to her it felt like days. After the painsubsided she could not move for nearly a day, and when she did her limbs were incredibly stiff, mainly because of a sensory overload from the electric currents moving throughout her body. Since so much energy could be pumped into her muscles so quickly, she suddenly found she was very athletic and that she could jump incredibly high, but also that she could from sparks on her fingertips. Purchasing only a dagger from a nearby store, she lived in the outskirts of civilization, practicing the magics flowing through her, and now she is quite skilled in them.

Weapons/Abilities: Black Matter; Felix can freely morph himself into Black Matter, a semi-solid material that weighs nothing and can float freely. This allows him to make clones of himself, glide, and shape-shift, among other things(this will be further explained later). In addition, he keeps a side-sword with him.
Description: Cool, calm, and collective, Felix prefers the simpler things in life. These include sharp pointy objects, top hats, and world domination. Although he doesn't have that last one. Not yet anyway. He has his own set of "Gentlemen's Codes" which he adheres to, supposedly promoting chivalrous behavior. This means that while he is evil in his own regards, he keeps his word, and avoids double-handed tactics.
As far as appearances go, he is a man in his upper-twenties, who sports a gray suit, gray pants, a top hat, and a cape. He also wears a monocle if that wasn't cliche enough. He has short, brown spiky hair, and blue eyes.

Spoiler
Biography: Born as the son of a mad scientist, Felix was introduced into the industry of evil at an early age. Things such as puppy-kicking came natural. Although his father's insanity proved his undertaking to be unfruitful, he was taught manners by his mother. This clash of life styles eventually molded itself into Felix's mind as he matured.
As a young man, he frequently bout his wits against foolish heroes, chasing after MacGuffins and what not. But one time, the MacGuffin acted a little... differently. This week's MacGuffin was something called Black Matter, which was a rather corruptive material. After using it's power to best the heroes, Felix had realized that it had changed him. With these powers, he no longer had to obey gravity's flimsy whims. However, these powers came at a cost. A cost of $4.92, exact change.
Mightier, powerfulerer, and $5 lighter, Felix honed his powers. Fast forward to today, and you have a weird contraption of a man, whom can be best described as a "Lawful Evil gentleman who can shapeshift". If it sounds badass, that's because it is. Now go fetch me some tea.

It isn't magical. But it can chop the hell out of some onions.
Description: Annaliese Nibbs, who likes to think any friends she had would know her as Anna, is a witch! You know, in the general sense of the word. Cottage in the woods, magic, had an old black cat before it got eaten by a coyote (okay it probably just ran away but eaten by a coyote is so much more tragic really and Anna is a very tragic figure. Do coyotes live in the woods? Anna is pretty sure coyotes live in the woods.). Flies a broom, and I know what you're thinking "Oh she probaby gets airsick or can't steer or something like that" well no shut up she can fly just fine thank you so very much. Did I mention magic? She totally does magic. You know, technically. I mean okay maybe she isn't great at it, but I'd like to see you do magic. Yeah, how about that? You can't do magic. Anna one, you zero.
Anna even has the power to turn herself into an animal! I mean okay she can only do hummingbirds but still that's cool. And useful sometimes. She also has a gift for numbers and finance but she tries as hard as she can not to because those are not witchy skills. And Anna is a witch. QED, or something.
Biography: Annaliese Nibbs was the fourth and last apprentice to Gamma Bravvace, a famous and powerful witch who was reportedly over four hundred years old. Some people might tell you that Gamma finally died because she got so frustrated with her inept-but-dogged apprentice but seriously that is so rude and not even true why would you say that. Old people die, I have seen them do it. She studied for the better part of a decade to learn The Craft, and when her mistress died, she was the only one there to wear the shawl and be the local witch. And she tries so hard, okay, and she doesn't need people saying mean things behind her back all the time. God.
It's been several years since Anna took over, and they've been hard. Still, nothing makes Anna happier than doing what she has to to witch for the local villages and people, even if sometimes the villages and people are less than happy which always struck Anna as ungrateful really. I mean even a novice witch is better than no witch at all, right? Maybe they can deliver their own babies and find someone else to whine to when their back hurts or they think the old lady down the street gave them the evil eye. They probably deserved it anyway. Go old evil eye lady is what Anna says.
Gamma Brevvace was always a believer in the old ways, shunning magic books and wands and things like that, but Anna is nothing if not on the cutting edge of the state of the craft witchery. Someone might say that's because she's desperate to find something that makes her less terrible at being a witch, but again. Rude. The ancient cottage that is now reluctantly Anna's is full of grimoires and crystals and sigils on the walls, and the yard is full of charms and skulkins and dream catchers; most of these never did her a lick of good, but one old relic of Gamma's (a small omenreader made from eggshell and spiderwebs) did let out a sad "Bflup" and flash briefly blue moments before Anna disappeared.

SpoilerThat's weird that that happened like that. I hadn't even had a chance to read over the GBS2G1 characters when I wrote him up.
Although, in my defence, Will and Kracht have fundamentally different kinds of loops, and they are very different characters in all other respects.

Then I realised it already is a closed timeloop, and is therefore not directly influencing the battle.
I am stupid.

Also this battle is already sorta a weird timeloop kinda in a way. I honestly expect causality to be violated in some way or another before it's over.

Race: Draconic Robot & Extradimensional Being
Color: 4040BF(OTTO) and BF0080(O'rlyath).
Weapons/Abilities: -Static field, Magnetism, and Tesla Bolt: These require electricity, which is regenerated by Electro Drain. OTTO also has some wicked talons and isn't exactly slow, despite his weighty construction.
-Time & Reality Warping: Freezing, slowing, or speeding up time and summoning, teleporting, moving/lifting, and outright destroying things. These recharge veeeerrryyy slowly, and the more powerful of these can almost never be used.
Description: A human-sized quadrupedal robot, fashioned in the shape of a wingless dragon. He is made of a glossy silver metal, with glowing blue eyes. The end of his tail has a prong capable of absorbing power from anything with a signifigant electrical current. This is critical for maintaining battery strength, as using abilities like Tesla Bolt tends to deplete is energy fairly rapidly. Has glowing blue optics capable of viewing visible light and radiation of various types. This function was originally for tracing radar sources. O'rlyath's presence causes a purplish-black goo to occasionally drip from between OTTO's plates and seep from the battery pack on OTTO's back. OTTO tends to be shockingly emotional for a robot, and it really doesn't take much for him to lose himself in the heat of battle. In conversation he's dramatically blunt, often outright stating the implied, no matte rhow "rude" it may seem. O'rlyath is usually a bit disconnected from reality, often musing to himself, but is quick to anger. He has a sharp tongue and a rapier wit, and loves to start arguments. He and OTTO share a love-hate relationship. Namely, they love to fight and hate each other.
Biography: OTTO was the first of a series of combat robots built for the sole purpose of massive destruction. A government devoted to the welfare of its troops and the complete crushing of its enemy spawned the program OTTO came from to circumvent ever-stronger armors and alloys in their time. OTTO's small size and powerful enegy weapons were designed to do just that, while his almost human sentience would allow him to intelligently bypass enemy defenses. Almost immediately after his first deployment, OTTO became posessed by a Being in search of a body. O'rylath is a typical Being, a powerful extradimensional force that can only occupy a plane by posessing a body. He had come to OTTO's plane to seek out revenge against another Being he knew was in the area, and O'rlyath had posessed the first sentient being available, which, to his surprise, turned out to be a combat robot. Since then OTTO and O'rlyath had begrudgingly helped each other, carving a trail of destruction through enemy cities. It would only take so long before someone else entirely would take an interest to this odd pair.

Race: Gravitational Wave Anomaly
Biography: The first Gravitational Wave Anomalies were caused by simple movements of planets. Just as random groups of wires can sometimes form circuits, and circuits arranged in some manners can produce things like, uhh, arc welders, or waffle irons, so did a completely random arrangement of planets make life. No, don't ask me how it happened. Anyway, this life spent billions of years loitering around and using its slight control over gravity to, like, clone itself and stuff, when one of the clones found this black hole. It managed to stretch itself around the black hole and got power from it, and made itself a body out of rocks and stuff. Also a few odd weapons it found around. And stuff.
Description: It looks kind of like a humanoid shell of rocks. In between the cracks of rock, reality seems a bit bent... and y'know, light is absorbed and stuff. Because of the black hole. It can communicate by using its GRAVITY POWAHZ to lift up soil in the shape of words.
Abilities: Slight amount of control over gravity, gets more powerful the more it absorbs into its shell. However, still stays the same size.

Voitrach would be acceptable, but you didn't specify a post color.
We begin either when Space Queen demonstrates an ability to post WITHOUT YELLING AAAHHHH, or Nehh specifies a color.
Or some random third party shows up out of nowhere and adds another character first.

It hadn't taken long, the gentlemen had grown rather adept to searching the multiverse. Each man save the one who held the book had chosen a single contestant to search for, and each had found their contestant.
The seventeen beings now stood in null space. In all directions, nothing stressed eternally. Not blackness, not colorlessness, simply nothing.
But nowhere wasn't empty. All around, were massive spheres. Not truly luminescent, but by contrast to the emptiness, they shone with the light of existence.
The group now floated over one such sphere. Chains of light bound the eight contestants, as the nine gentlemen overviewed them, ensuring the matched the profiles given to them by the tome.
"The first contestant, Loran Twight, was a being called a Creeper. A naturally evolved assassin, his very appearance reflected his nature. Though perhaps somewhat insane, this made him all the deadlier to his opponents."
Scanning Loran, the gentlemen found him acceptable, and continued.
"The second was a half-oni by the name of Greyve. Though his phsycial prowess was great, he also possessed the ability to learn the moves of his foes. Though playful in times of peace, this battle would show another side of him."
Again, the Greyve that now floated, bound in chains of light, was found by the gentlemen to be the very same Greyve written of in the book.
"The third, a human by the name of Will Haven, was a peculiar case. Caught in a network of time loops, he had unwittingly wandered towards this battle himself, hoping to uncover the mystery of his vanishing future self."
Were it not obscured by the black hood, the leader of the gentlemen may have grinned at Will.
"The fourth, Apathy, was a sorrowful human. Having hoped to shut off her emotions, Apathy held promise to be a heartless warrior, in the battle to come."
Apathy made little attempt to break free of the chains, as the gentlemen passed her.
"The fifth, Felix Atrum, was a textbook villain. He held in his power the peculiar ability to morph into dark matter."
"In a footnote." the leader of the Gentlemen noted "It is mentioned that the power to change one's shape is extraordinarily common among these battles..."
"The sixth, Annaliese Nibbs, was a witch. This witch in fact, was a demonstration of the peculiar nature of this battle.
While any other battle would have chosen only the greatest and most powerful beings as contestants, fate itself has selected these. This woman, though a witch, was by no means a powerful being."
The gentleman flipped a few pages, he had no interest in reading the Wordsmith's meaningless rants.
"The seventh 'contestant' was in fact a pair of beings. One, OTTO, a machine of war, was possessed by the other, O'rlyath, though the two disliked each other, they were an extraordinarily powerful combination."
Though simple chains had been sufficient to hold OTTO, a much more intricate noneucledian seal also held O'rylath in place.
"The final was a being called Voitrach. Describing the very nature of its existence could be done in volumes."
Evidently the Wordsmith had decided on pages, for the Gentleman was flipping through several again.
"To summarize, it is a gravity-manipulating golem" he added, to alleviate the irritation of the other Gentlemen.
At last, the man stood in the center of the circle, and spoke directly to the contestants.
"You have all been gathered here, as part of a game. To put it simply, you are to kill each other."
The words were completely dry, matter-of-fact.
"Your motivation for doing so is simple. 'you will kill each other.'"
The contestants didn't understand, but it was simple to the Gentlemen. It was written about in the Wordsmith's book, and it would happen. The battle had not yet concluded, and so it was a prophecy.
"The battle shall be divided into 7 rounds. Each death shall end a round. Each new round will take place in a new arena. The arenas have been predetermined.
Slowly but surely, the group had been descending on the sphere beneath them. Now the Gentlemen stopped descending, but the contestants accelerated.
"The first battle will begin now."
7000 years earlier, the Wordsmith closed his eyes.
To see a world- to truly see it- perhaps took more focus than the other aspects of his writing. Still he could see it, as the contestants landed throughout the first arena.
Scattered were they, throughout what to them seemed simply a stone maze. An intricate temple perhaps on closer inspection.
Indeed the "Temple" was massive, countless structures marked in intricate runes. A huge mountain-sized being.
The contestants touched down within the first arena. Kosmo Tourok, the Sleeping World of Rock.

In keeping with Grand Battle tradition, the first arena is taken from an MSPA. This one's probably a bit younger than usual, but I think it'll make a nice arena.
To put it simply, we've arrived inside the mountain-sized Rock God Kosmo Tourok. This is a bit earlier than the adventure takes place, and Kosmo's still sleeping. Dio doesn't exist yet, and you're probably not going to wake him up, so to the contestants it may as well be a really complicated temple, but still. Dex has informed my on IRC that there's a good chance that the mess you make will canonically affect Kosmo in the adventure, so have fun breaking shit.
Inside Kosmo is an intricate maze, along with the 'ability grid.' Plenty of crazy stuff is with all kinds of vital purposes is everywhere. You also might make it to the surface, if you do the status of the village is up to whoever writes it in.
Other than that, go nuts.
