I did that in middle school! I was obsessed with reducing letters to one stroke and sounds to one letter, but the biggest flaw with mine was that I couldn’t make them flow in natural directions nor be distinguishable enough without slowing down the writing. I still use them since it’s “the system I learned”.

J. R. Gregg started selling his famous shorthand system when he was 21-ish. It’s a very good system!

My handwriting can be quite sloppy, so I used to look for errors that could be taken as foreign symbols.
