Playing any of the metroidvania genre without ever picking up a life boost?

I've tried Megaman X x-buster only but I always get bored with the more time consuming bosses. I guess beating it in under an hour counts as a speedrun though.

Alttp with no extra stuff is kinda challenging, the dark world bosses kill you in two or three hits. There's also some one song of time only or six days nonsense in Majora's mask but that sounds pretty crazy.

Zelda 2 No Continues is still the top of my list of achievements

Are we bragging about gamerchievements? Cause I beat Alttp, pokemon red, and some other text-heavy games without understanding any of the text.

I 100%'d Iji once and I got a clear time on Metroid: Zero Mission of 1:24 (1:32? It was somewhere around an hour and a half).

No alerts, no kills, no rations mgs2 normal. Not super impressive but it was satisfying for me to finish while doing a run to remember why I loved it so much.

I think my best gaming achievement is beating Exam-C on Super Monkey Ball Deluxe. No, I don't care that it's part of the game and not self-imposed, that level is tough.

(well and also a solo-run lv 100 Igglybuff being my first lv 100 pokemon ever, but freq already did pokemon solo runs.)

Also also every pokemon monotype run I've ever done because damn those are fun.

Eeeeeeeeeee my friend finally loaned me his Ghost Trick cartridge and I'm gonna play it over Spring Break this is gonna be so sick
