The common Nyx is called "A piece of junk" due to how badly the ships worked when they were originally launched. Most Nyx's nowadays have a lot of backyard mechanics work done on them, and nearly every Nyx has added by random upgrades by various owners over the years.

The Izanagi Ship

The Hemera Ship

The [Large Bird] fortuna item will proc even if you choose a ship AI here. If you choose a ship AI here you will simply receive either the minerva or athena unit as an additional AI for the crew.

Also they will not take up space on the crew unless you specifically make them crew members, so keep that in mind as we get to crew creation.
