iNatural Assembly and Planning

Hello! This will be a place where we can arrange meet-ups through the use of a Nature Cataloging website called "inaturalist.org".

By making an account, you can add "Observations". When you add an Observation, you can specify the radius of what the species you discovered covers.

or you can be a fool like me and say that you found yourself.

The range of your location can be as big or small as you like, adjustable by clicking the pin that you place the map one or two times. This can help in creating personal boundaries according to your preference. For example, I would prefer having someone's Pin intersect with mine before considering giving them a more specific radius of where i can travel to meet them.

When you're travelling to a different part of the world, moving, or must restate your travelling availability (ie. "can't take the subway for a while") you can post a new pin reflecting the changes to where you can meet up!

I will try and stitch together a map of the natural habitats of you Eagle-timers and spoiler it in the OP once there are lots of people posting their pins. I can't update it if you're travelling but I can if you're moving permanently or something else that would not require updating the map for a while.

I suppose this can also be a thread where you post about your local wildlife. And the most ideal places to discuss end-of-the-world plans with each other! Maybe arm yourself with a crossbow/harpoon-gun and start picking us off one by one? (I'd like to see you try )

You won't have any observations, conceivably, so click "Add Observations"

When making an observation, a map will pop up. It will show the world as seen from a sattelite. But this isn't simple enough for us, political-minded humans we want to rule SPACE-AMERICA

So click "Map" for a map more practical to your needs.

You can click on drag to center the map on the place of your choosing.

The zoom-in buttons are located in the top-left corner of the map.

I zoomed in to Greenland, specifically Kangerlussuaq, where all the kangaroos live. Such an advanced race, being able to relocate to a harsh tundra as Greenland and adapt. We should learn and mate with their people! Only then can we broker an alliance with their savage military regime.

After zooming in to Kangerlussuaq, I clicked slightly above it to create a Pin.

When you have finished distributing your fiery wrath, you can set the geoprivacy setting in the dropdown menu below the map so no one will ever find evidence of your devastation upon this fair country.

You can also add miscellaneous details about where exactly you'd like to meet if you would ever meet someone nearby. After you're done, simply scroll down to the bottom and click "Save observation".

It will be a radius centered on a singe point which may not necessarily be where you live, but where you're able to meet!

Your observation has a differently numbered URL associated with it. That is what you use to identify that Pin and will be what you would post in this thread so that others may see if you're nearby.

You can post new Links to new observations if you need to change where you're available to meet up.
