Latta: space ship captains heading personally into dangerous situations is a time-honored tradition.

Cleo: curious and has little self preservation, of course she wants to tag along.

Cea: handle tricky social stuff and act as the voice of reason (yeah).

Marble: keep everyone alive.

If Marble refuses to come due to low morale take Adrax as extra pair of hands. Edel should stay on the ship in case of medical emergency.

If we leave one person on the ship, have them learn things from tiny helios.

Hmm, Cleo is sorta trait sensitive. Perhaps she could ask Helios to teach her, uhm, Karate? This has the added benefit of getting the ship waxed.

Hey Athena can you please have Edel use his plant growing kits? That's some inventory space that keeps getting used up we really don't need to deal with, and he could probably carry around something more useful like the magnet in the meantime. Also that light sword is there anyone better to equip it with?

CJ is not built for close-combat at all, so he should get long range weapons if anything.

Cea's not built for combat altogether. His one point in strength gives him a hard time putting a dent in butter. If he gets a weapon it needs to be a good one or it needs to circumvent his low strength score. The gun works off morale and might actually work for that but Cea's morale had a tiny dip in the negatives before he got therapy from Marble so it's probably not very high. Latta can make way better use of it with her 100 morale.

This is also why I'd give him the magnet. To work it just needs to be put on a robot, I believe this would require agility rather than strength.

Hmm, Cea could carry it, but I'm not sure we want him to. It looked like he burned some stuff and people on his homeplanet in that dream of his so maybe we don't want to give him a source of fire.

Would we want Marble to have the flamethrower? It's a high power weapon, probably Athena's choice of starting item, so with Marble's high strength score would allow her to wreck things with it. This could be overkill though, and Marble already has her bardiche.
