Peeking around the corner, you see a few folks in uniform discussing something.

"As you see, these drones are capable of making a quick survey of the ruins, so our researchers could explore the areas more safely, and extract the artifacts."

"So we went out in the middle of nowhere to test a few boxes painted yellow. Fascinating."

"Well, they are cheap, Number Three Sir, and would allow our researchers to enter the ruins more safely."

"That would not be needed, because--oh, didn't you know? Treasure retrieval will be reassigned from R&D to volunteer prisoners soon. And we don't want to give precise detectors to criminals, do we?"

"That is... I... did the Wardess really approve it?"

I am pretty tired from work, so i couldn't craft a full update in a while. I hope #doodlequest's lore is making up for this a tiny bit.
