Saya stays where they are, cursing that they don't have the strength to transform just yet.

Baylee will go north 2 then east 2 and sit and wait, she is unsure how to attack mages and she will be cautious with this one.

Casey watches as his allies emerge from the forest, one by one. There's trepidation in the air; unlike during the scramble against the bandits, this time everyone's actions are defensive. It's easy to see why, up against a group of trained military. Even so, Casey feels compelled to step in. The enemy is only a short distance away, he can't leave any openings for his group to be attacked. The mage seemed like the logical choice; Casey's knife requires a lot less precision against foes not wearing armor. He darts from the forest and takes a swing at the robed Revotrian.

Milo grits his teeth.  He knew it was only a matter of time until he ended up fighting his countrymen, and it wasn't like he immediately recognized any of these soldiers, but it still left him... uneasy.  After all, these men weren't just bandits - he knew from personal experience that it was possible a good many of them truly believed they were doing right.

He snaps out of it as he sees the Revotrian mage rampage around.  A fireball singing Sunny, barely missing Casey, and now the man spins, ready to choose his next target.  Milo couldn't let his hesitation put anyone in danger.  He charges around the mage's flank, thrusting his spear forward into the man before he gets a chance to cast another spell.

Milo moves right one and up two, attacking the mage.

So, Airitech got a real dumb plan.

But dumb plans were better than no plans in the heat of battle.

Airitech moves three up and one left. And he shoots! He shoots the damn tree! With his toothpick arrow!

Milo charges in, delivering a stab to the side of the dastardly mage!

Airitech shoots the tree twice! 16 damage! The tree falls over, creating a bridge!

Mazelina is going to move two squares up from her current position! Sunny is hurt, and she most certainly wants to help her out...but something holds her back. A sort of fierceness around the dark-magic slinger.

Milo coldly wrenches his lance from the body of the now dead mage and spins back into a defensive posture.  It had been an almost surprisingly long time since he had taken someone's life, any rustiness he had felt during the last battle was quickly fading away.  His mind briefly wages a war between the visceral, adrenal thrill battle gave and the distaste he now has for it.  At least now it was directed at people who, if not outright deserving of it, were needed for the greater good.

He jerks towards the other soldier on their side of the river and the oncoming ones across the bridge. 


"Who is next?  I'm right here, if you dare!"

The enemy army moves in unison. It's nothing like what you saw from the bandits. Here, there's coordination - strategy.

The soldier on your side of the river retreats to the other side of the bridge, taking a guarded stance there.

A mage moves to provide support. A mercenary follows suit.

On the other side of the river, the Revotrians begin making a crossing to approach the allied army. One soldier moves to strike Airitech.

He swings and misses! 0 damage taken.

You hear the sound of hoofbeats coming from the south. The enemy's reinforcements? Or your own? You can't be sure, but you have a bad feeling about this...





"Hah! They must be bold to charge so recklessly against a knight of Renault! Let's show them what we can do!



"Wait, you can't just--"



"Ugh. That fool's going to get himself killed... Stay put, your Highness. I'll return momentarily... if all goes well."



"..."

The rider strikes at the mage with his lance!  Miss! The mage counterattacks! Miss!



"Gah! That was close!"

The cavalier cantos back the remaining two spaces. The rogue tries to catch up.

Baylee watches the enemy movements and frowns. “Looks like these men ‘re  a step above the last bunch and ‘re more trained than we ‘re.. But tha way I see it, we still gotta go forward.” 

She pauses and then glances at Milo a bit away from her. She’s never really spoken with the guy yet. But she’s seen him fight. She clears her throat and calls after him. “Hey, uh...” She pauses, trying to remember his name. “Millo. How about You an’ me rush da bridge! I bet we could mow at least one of em down before they get their wits.”  And without waiting for a confirmation from him, she’s off and away, axe raised to strike.

Baylee moves 2 east 1 north and attacks the spear user.

Barnabas growled, frustrated at the retreat of the warrior. He was hoping to get a swing in, but for now, he needed to keep his rage building up until a more advantageous period arose. For now, he moved up for now to get a better idea of things, up to the river so he could see and at least yell out troop movements and oversee what everyone was doing better.



"Move up quickly, they're trying to stop us from reaching them!"

Milo nods at Baylee, half surprised at her sudden outburst.


"You read my mind."

It was... comforting in a way.  He had been ready to charge forward regardless of the enemy's daunting defence, but knowing that not only did he have support in doing so, but some sort of coordination... it reminded him of the army, but this time he was fighting for something decent.  Seeing Barnabas running forward as well, he felt even further encouraged - despite what misgivings he still had about the laguz.  Maybe they could do something.

He charges forward, following up Baylee's throw before the soldier would be able to react to either.

Move three up and attack.

Sunny wipes at her cheek with a wrist, smearing ashes across her face. Wow... magical fire sure is hot! She feels a presence behind her, and turns to Mazelina with a grin.



"Heya, almost didn't see you there!" She grins at their healer, face singed and clothes crisped. Her words spill out, faster than normal. "How's it going? Having a good time? I am!" She taps her chin. "Fighting my countrymen... it's a pretty wild experience, if this is anything to go off of. Oh, but I'm sure you have better things to do than talk to me! I'm sure your goddess wouldn't like it!" She winks at Mazelina, then turns to see Baylee and Milo charging in.

"Oh! Wait for me! I can help too!" With that, she scampers off, eager for more.

Sunny moves two spaces right and two spaces up.

It seems the soldiers are mobilizing, something that's tremendously intimidating. Mazelina can feel her heart rate increase as she watches all of the movement, also taking in that...hollering from her team.
A spark starts along with that rhythm in her breast, and she glances to Logan before looking back to her allies.

Sunny turns to talk to her, and Mazelina blinks while her brain slogs through tactics.
"Oh, my Goddess wouldn't-- you seem nice enough. I'm- I'm glad you're doing well. Good- good luck!" The last part has to be called out while Sunny scampers away, but that's fine enough. It gives Mazelina reason to look over at the group again, and has her brows knitting with determination.


"Be careful and safe, everyone! I need to make my way north to help those folk. They've no healer, and I trust you all. I'll see you soon!"

With that, Mazelina will move three spaces north and one step west! Time to call out to Logan!


"Excuse me!" With her free hand, Mazelina waves. "Would you be so kind as to escort me past the river, my friend?"

Saya moves forward towards the river, ready to fly across and aid the brave people of Renault as soon as they're able to transform.

Everyone else readjusts, preparing for their next move!

The rest of the party splits up, and Casey's judgement lapses when he's forced to decide which way to turn. He glances from side to side, until he hears Mazelina's voice. Helping a group to the North? Casey hadn't even noticed anyone besides their enemies, but surely enough he can spot a man on horseback fighting with one of the Revotrians in the distance. He doubts he could break through the wall of enemies over the bridge, and so he takes off towards Airitech. The indirect approach seems better suited for him.



"You lot need a hand?" he asks Mazelina as he crosses her path. "I figure I can be a distraction if nothin' else."

Casey moves 1 up, 4 left and waits.

Airitech moves back one space south/down, and does a double-salvo on the pikeman.

Logan's about to take off over the river when they hear a voice nearby! A friend needs help! That's good. Logan's beginning to wonder if they could do much to help out alone, anyway.



"Aye, Mazzie, I got ye! Climb on and hang on tight! Wouldn't want ye fallin' off."

Logan moves one space right, rescues Mazelina, then moves one space left and three up. Wouldn't want to get into range from that dark magic user, after all.

This is...beyond exciting. Sure, she has reasons for wanting to go North to help people, but this whole flying on a wyvern thing was appealing on its own. This is...fantastic. Onward!

The rider notices he's dying rather badly! Seeing this is the case, he drinks some strange concoction and heals back up to full. He then uses canto to shove himself into the forest once more.



"Shit! Gonna need some help over here! You mind giving me some cover, major?!"



"Of course. But for future reference: you should use your brain before you almost die next time. Knights, I swear..."

True to her word, the rogue dives into battle, deftly wielding a bow, though her hand never strays too far from her knife.

She fires a shot at the enemy soldier!
