The sky was grey, like an old master's unkempt beard, which nevertheless never made its way into the soup.
It was early. A little too early for an adventurer to walk in, just the right time for a waitress, who may or may not have been out of work.
Certainly, Guan Yi had the look of a traveler- dust-covered shoes, a walking stick, her backpack behind her- but that wasn't uncommon in these times, not at all. Hard luck seemed to follow everyone, like the storm clouds and rotten weather on the horizon.
Still, bright eyes seemed to trail about the room, watching the remains of the breakfast rush; and walk up to the bar. "Pardon me, sir," she says, a faint hesitation trying to cover up a slight accent, "But do you have any work in the kitchens?"
