oh I SEE
I managed to completely ignore the "hey you need to manually download 1.6 update" reminder
for like half a year
(vanilla works btw. I think maybe I am just supposed to apply the direwolf pack to the most updated vanilla version. That miiiiiiiiight have been the problem.)
e: still can't get modpack to work though. I don't know if I have to do something specific to tell ftb to use newest vanilla minecraft. Might end up trying the drivers thing in the end. I'm going to bed now.
