How can you even muster the courage to get rid of that much hair

The process was that my parents said "all that hair probably isn't going to look good when applying for a job that requires formal business attire" and I said "OK yeah that sounds true"

I... was not so much attached to the look of having long hair as I was attracted to the idea of not bothering to get it cut and having it so long that gravity would keep it straight for me without any additional effort.
