You make a run for your blade.
A moment later, The Demon begins pursuit.
Even with your head start, the Demon catches up quickly.
You hate how fast it is.
You fling a shard of memory as it closes in.
It avoids most damage, but it slows slightly.
It's enough. You'll reach the sword in time.
As you think that, the Demon speaks a chilling demand.
A shadow overtakes the entire area.
It is a titanic hand. You have a moment-
The hand grasps the thin bridge and its surroundings, crushing them.
You narrowly avoid the same fate.
Stunned by the turn of events, you stare at the fist as you fall. There was only one possible explanation for this- the Nobleman Traitor was alive, and had hid in this abyss since its banishment.
And now, it was aiding the Demon.
Now was not the time to think about it, however. You only have one target- The Demon. You find your sword, glowing in the darkness, distant.
And you find the Demon, falling after you.
