No, you need to face what needs to be done, right here, right now. And you need to do it face to face.
You begin to say, "Look, I'm sick of running away just as much as you are, so--"
"No," she interrupts you, "Ted..." She turns her head towards you.
"I'm sick of running away."
"Well, uh," you say, suddenly being the manly guy, "if your keys are back upstairs and you're too tired to go back up them, I'm just gonna bust this door down." He starts readying his shoulder in a circular motion while rubbing it with his other hand.
"I've never busted down any doors before, but I can try."
Hah, you say in your head, suddenly being the old janitor guy for some reason, you haven't done anything that extravagant since you were in Vietnam. If you were that young again, you'd take these stairs to the ring for a good old boxing match and give 'em the old one-two. Show 'em what a professional can do.
But those days are in the past, and now this chipper young man is willing to completely rip a door off it's hinges just so you don't have to trek back upstairs for your keys.
Young people are so nice sometimes.
No, you could never do that. Mr. Smith is a very hard-working employee within the Marketing department. Besides, we're in crisis, so firing someone is in the least of your interests. While he is hard-working, protecting those that can be useful to fighting EXECUTE are top priority. You have also heard that he is currently taking care of Manfreddie's ducks in a closed-off environment, whom are also important to stopping EXECUTE, so he is unknowingly preforming his part. You can only hope he will stay there.
You enter the floor.
Your first intention is to search the walls for the lightswitch. You find one, but it does not seem to work.
You're...not entirely sure why that is. But you investigate further in the offices.
Of course, the EXECUTE zombies are programmed to not attack two people: you, and the BOSS. They will, however, attack you if provoked. Supposedly as a precautionary measure set by the BOSS were you to ever betray him.
Oh, certainly, you would never do that. Hehe...
Hmm.
The sudden influx in zombies is unsettling. You were not aware it has spread further. You're wonder what could have caused this. You only hope the man they call Beetle has not turned into one of them, likely finding refuge within some sort of closet. It's possible that he has turned off the lights to become more easily aware of any passing zombies, and to know whether or not there are any of the floor.
Still, it is deeply unsettling. You must proceed quickly.
