SpoilerHello fellow 300KFATers! And also anyone else who reads this.
I figured you guys might want some facts about the Artiste because it is pretty strange and enigmatic and if you want to write about it you might want a bit of an outline on what the fuck is up with it. So here are some brief points that Pharmacy and I have hashed out on its eldritch and horrible nature!
-It is a semi-omnipotent otherworldly being that is very much not a person. It likes to kill people in various ways that it considers to be the highest form of performance art and then store their bodies for use in more pieces of art, like the big meat tree.
-Once the Artiste kills something, its body will never decay. The Artiste needs a place in space to store the bodies (the storage park) and someone to make runs to and from the unit for it (Yves). Yves can easily talk to humans/humanoids and act as a go-between for the Artiste, which rarely deals with people directly. So he does things like make payments on the storage facility and drop off and sort new bodies.
-The Artiste rarely says more than a few words to people because it exists in another "dimension" (plane, world, whatever) and has difficulty sending messages across, so its voice sounds extremely garbled and horrifying. This is signified by when its voice is in all caps. However, it can talk to dead people much more efficiently and so if it wants to have a long conversation it will kill you in some horrifically entertaining (to it) way and then tell you what it wants to tell you before reviving you.
-The Artiste has other minions besides Yves, pretty much a small cult-like following of people who serve as its agents in our world. Some were volunteers, especially those in the higher ranks, while others were shanghaied into its service. All have had pieces of their bodies removed as collateral on their pact with the Artiste.
-It is not really interested in playing a direct role in the battle. It mostly just finds the whole thing extremely entertaining and wants to gain an understanding of the psyche/background of each of the combatants to further appreciate the Coach's art, even if the Coach had never intended the battle to be art in the first place.
Hopefully this will help you out with your writing! Of course feel free to PM me with questions/comments/whatever your heart desires.
