Punctuation, capitalization, and line breaks are what I find make it bad. Plus I don't think present tense is really appropriate for this, but then again a number of others have been typing in present tense as well, so meh.

Dex, your writing is far from painful to read. There are tons of English speakers (where English is their first language) who write atrociously when they don't have to write correctly. You're fine.
