With her dorkie off and about, Asteria trailed behind Jetsam and Arckal... until she got bored. She felt odd, as if there was something rejecting this simple waiting game and wished for something greater. Something more exciting. Something with action.
Deciding to leave the two boy's to themselves and floating ahead to see what obstacles laid ahead, she noticed that the doors up ahead were locked and sealed. Looking back at how far they would have to go, Asteria felt it safe to search for someone who knew how to open up the doors.
Back with the dynamic duo, Arckal and Jetsam continued their trek across the Asylum floors, the first curious as to the origins of the seemingly empty building, and the latter wishing that they would walk faster. The walk was an uneventful one, which for Arckal felt different. Could the death of Micheal Bay stopped the power so recklessly implanted in him? If not, then what was with the lack of action? As they reached another set of steps, he couldn't help but wonder if this was all leading to a trap...
The unfortunate victim of Asteria's latest possession was one Amelia Carnea, a simple intern to the byzantine Asylum. The possession didn't really tell her a lot of new things. The people in the area were either docile, harmless, or one of those unless provoked, which was rather boring, and only served to make her search for someone capable of opening the door more difficult. The only other thing of note seemed to be that she had entered through some means that weren't the portal, but that was something to be tucked away. As she wandered around in her borrowed body, searching for an unlocking mechanism of some sort, she heard a voice over her shoulder.
"Ah, Miss Carnea!"
She almost jumped at the mention, but composed herself as she turned around and witnessed a normal looking man and a very abnormal looking... thing behind him. The thing was all too familiar to Asteria, and it took much restraint not to panic. She was face to face with one of the dreaded Nurses of the Asylum.
"Miss Carnea, are you okay? You are making an odd face. Would you like Nurse Muriel to take you back to your bunk?"
"No, no I'm fine, just a bit nervous, here in this area, with all of the locked doors and no one around except for little old me and now you two!"
"Ha, no need to worry, the doors are only unlockable with one of these keys," he flashed a shiny card in his face with a smile, "Or the master switch, over there." He pointed at a room further above the area.
"Well, Miss Carnea, this has been a fun chat, but there is a patient waiting for us, let's go Nurse Muriel."
With a grunt from Muriel, the pair went off to see their patient.
Said patient was anything but.
"I keep telling you to call me Hilux."
The unnamed doctor was sitting with a clipboard with Nurse Muriel standing close to the door, mostly out of sight. Opposite to him, was a Yamaha Virago. The doctor sighed as once more, the motorcycle denied that it was a motorcycle and insisted that it was a pick-up truck.
"Okay, before we go with the treatment, I will take another approach. Why, no, what do you like about being a Toyota Hilux." He rolled his eyes, almost not believing that he actually said that.
"Oh boy, oh man, being a Toyota Hilux is just... damn it is just the greatest thing ever. Like, you wouldn't believe how great it is. I am talking about almost indestructible durability here. It's right there on the Wikipedia article! I could be set on fire right now, and I wouldn't feel a thing. Oh and-"
The doctor hmmmd at the continuing motorcycles babbling, not listening but fantasizing what pain and torture it would endure for its "treatments." It was in the middle of the part where he got a small militia to shoot at him that the doctor heard a very bad sound. A click as the door to the room unlocked. And then another as each and every door followed suit.
Click after click as slowly the doors around them opened. Sometimes a thing came out, other times the patient stayed in, either way, with the newly freed patients potentially swarming out, possibly to escape, Jetsam and Arckal both new that there was no longer time to dwaddle. Running forward past the newly opened doors to where they hoped the exit would be, they recklessly swerved through, hoping to avoid any confrontation.
It was too bad that, due to a certain someone, that was only a pipe dream. While Arckal was just running forward, Jetsam was also making sure to keep his head down. However, when the person out for your head has an animalistic sense of smell, that doesn't help much.
<font color="#191919">"Well, well, well, who do we have here."
Arkcal was forced to stop running as he hit a scaly wall that had just placed itself in front of him.
Oh my, it seems that we have our former friend here has returned. How was not being locked up and tortured by grotesque abominations, huh?
Arckal stood up and got a better look at the two voices. The wall that had hit him was actually a humanoid lizard, with odd multicolored eyes and an odd, almost mashed together face formation. The other voice was a normal human male, with brown hair; Arckal noticed that his eyes seemed to be changing colors.
Stepping back closer to Jetsam, facing off with the two with a smile on his face, he couldn't help but ask one more question.
"So, these friends of yours?"</font>
Jetsam groaned.
