Arckal and Reuben found themselves again suspended in darkness, if only for a moment. Around them, dark, uniform corridors materialized, barely obeying any semblance of logic or geometry in their layout. It could only be described as the halls of some sort of hospital as viewed by a complete psychopath.
"This... this is where it all began. All began, yes. They said I was crazy. Torture, the pain, the pain! No, no no no. Mustn't lose focus..."
A mad sort of screaming reverberated down the narrow corridors. One of the many metal doors which lined the halls rattled, but soon ceased motion. These few noises were the only things which broke the debatably more unnerving silence which filled the place.
"This... This is the Asylum. You think you're alone here but you're not, you're not. They see you, they watch you. They run the show, they run fate itself. You are trapped and powerless before them, you will become just like the others here. They won't stop until that has happened. There is no escape, no escape. They said I was crazy. Not crazy. Not crazy! The padding, it burns. It burns, it taunts! They laughed at me! They said I coul-"
