'Books' some doubleplusunstandard part of his mind sayed. Reuben held cardforms... books... and opened papers ('pages' unstandard informed). More papers... pages he doubleplusful rethinked. More pages inside book than space for all pages to fit. Doubleplusunstandardful. Reuben tried plusbooks. Some less pages than space. DOUBLEPLUSUNSTANDARDFUL! He tried doubleplusbooks, doubleplusunslowful seeing shelves in air, not on floor. DOUBLEDOUBLEPLUSUNSTANDARDFUL! He finded this place doubleplusuneasyful to describe. All so doubleplusunstandardful. That unstandard part of his mind unamicableful telled him 'this place was weird'. Reuben agreed. This place was doubeplusweird.

The 'books' were full of words Reuben unknowed, unstandard unhelped him, and he thinked to leave doubleplusweirdful place. As he moved through place, more shelves and books, desk and technology and exit. No persons anywhere. Reuben thinked this doubleplusstandardful. Had he seen blackpaste he'd fearwalk, he had done. He moved to exit, doubleplusunstandardful finded bookbuilding high in sky above city.

Ruben is confused again, after finding himself in a new place. He contemplates what just happened. As Ka, Shieldman and Arckal neared the core (something he describes as being doubleplushim (more him than the rest of him)) he involuntarily acted to protect himself. Like a defense mechanism that he couldn't stop. He was sad to have played his part in killing Ka, having considered him an Oceanian like himself. He considers that perhaps Arckal and Shieldman are also Oceanians because of their alliance with Ka. He decides to try to communicate with them if he sees them to determine whether they are or not through whether they can speak Newspeak as all Oceanians can.

Back in the present there is shouting and Rueben examines his surroundings. He is in a library. There are shelves full of books, he examines them and some part of his mind tells him that they are called books. The books defy physics in that when open they contain more pages than can be fit, or the other way around, also the shelves are floating. He is very confused, that helpful part of his mind tells him that this is 'weird'. He tries to read books but gives up, he looks for the exit, finding the library to be empty. He considers this an appropriate reaction to what he has become.

As he goes to leave he is surprised to find that the library is floating. My rationale for this is that in this crazy physics city the more weight you add to something the lighter it becomes and so buildings with too much weight, say a massive blob creature, start floating away.
