Midsentence, midaction, or midthought, the contestants minus one disappeared. There was a brief moment where they were all floating in the endless darkness from before the first round before they rematerialized.
The first impression was of blinding, multicolored light; eyes squeezed shut, and a moment later opened slightly. The contestants all appeared to be in a huge room, made entirely of stained glass; light shone in from all angles, bathing everything in shifting patterns of color. There were benches made of glass, a glass pulpit at the far end, and glass doors, decorations, and candelabra.
Before anyone had time to fully take in the scene, The Organizer's voice boomed out from seemingly-nowhere. "Contestants! Welcome to the Cathedral of Glass! As you can see, everything here is made of glass; as you can't, everyone is too." A cursory glance revealed that the competitors weren't any glassier than usual, implying other inhabitants of the cathedral. "Feel free to explore the grounds, the catacombs, even the library; just try not to end up alone!"
"I'll let you find out why."
