She glanced toward the manikin, at the corner of Lainey's vision and so on the corner of the veiwscreen. "Well, I don't think anybody could tell what that thing wants."
Lainey turns toward Vasily, leaning against a tree next to Fire-Kid and wishing she wasn't so terrible with names. "We don't want anything in particular," she answers. "To go home, I suppose. I mean, we've all just been told it's brilliantly difficult to survive here--in this endless, haunted forest." She gestured toward Vasily. "I'm thinking he's got about the right idea. What d'you think?"
