Just kidding. I see it this way. We began with a room with 44 people, plus staff. 20 are dead, three are hiding and four are us. That leaves seventeen people who would probably not still be gambling in a crowd. I think the blast killing them is pretty fairgame. Zeke used the table for cover, naturally. And for relevance sake lets say that the whitmaw arrm exploded like a grenade, up and around. Your table is located a fair walk away from this battle next to the bar, and you'll have an undead deity between these two points, if I structured my mind map right.
Theres more than enough evidence to support that my likelihood is, well, more likely. All you have to change is "stole from crowd" to "looted corpses that may or may not be attempting to get back up"
