Whit had always taken risks with himself. Certainly, he had gotten lucky often, but usually it was his own abilities that won for him. In this case, that skill was Whit's knowledge. He knew exactly which floors would do the most damage, he knew what he needed to do, and, most importantly, he knew how to escape the building from the upper floors.
