Fabricati, SleepingOrange, Not The Author, AgentBlue, and whoosh! are going to be the "players" of the game. Everyone else will be spectators, but I think I have a good way of getting everyone involved even if they aren't "playing".
I'll quickly give some small reasons why I didn't use the other proposals right here in this nifty spoiler:
Show Content
SpoilerSchazer: The idea of a truth elemental is really original and awesome, but first off that sounds more like an authority figure in a game or story rather than a player character, especially given the other proposals given. Combat also would be difficult, since it would be difficult to get truth to be used in combat.
Dragon Fogel: A hamster riding a penguin is ridiculous, which is actually awesome. Some times. It'd be hard to fit in next to the other characters I picked, though.
cyber95: I didn't use your proposal simply because I felt I could use the other characters better and ran out of room.
Gnauga: "Fisticuffmancer" is a special kind of blunt ridiculousness much like a hamster penguin rider (in a good way). It'd be great in a game with mostly ridiculous classes and races like that, but again it wouldn't fit quite as well with the ridiculousness of the overly-complicated classes that I decided to use.
Pick Yer Poison: I don't know what a "mescull" is, but I could have just made up some race to go along with it. "Thespianaut" is great in the way it ridiculously smashes together two words that don't relate to each other, but I couldn't see a good way to get it to work in combat alongside the slightly more serious classes I picked.
Woffles: I would love to draw a spriggan just because I want to try my hand at reinterpreting typical fantasy races, but I would have had difficulty making "Mediator" a viable way to fight. Also, the lineup seemed to already be very support-heavy, so it would have just added to that imbalance.
ProfessorLizzard: A holy spider golem would be fun to draw (though difficult with the low resolution I used for the sprites), but "Prophet of Hats" works best with the penguin rider and fisticuffmancer. Maybe next time I do this (here's hoping I get to at some point) I'll make it so it all has to be over-the-top silly.
Ixcaliber: A flame elf would be awesome, but a baseball knight is also leaning towards the slightly more ridiculous end.
KittenEater: I didn't pick yours basically just because I ran out of room. Same reason as cyber95's.
After a bit I'll finish up some more sprites for the characters, draw up a rough map, and then really start the thing out with the first "cutscene". It might be a little while just because of how much I'll have to draw as well as the fact that I'll be using this time to work on the basic mechanics for each character.
Also, as a quick question: should there be a "deadline" for telling your character what to do like the deadline for lynching in mafia? How long should that be?
