I part on the right. That’s where the whorl is. My brother did, too, until he decided he preferred much shorter cuts (and got a job that requires them). He has a double whorl. We’re both pretty right handed. Then again, he used to copy nearly anything I’d do just because I was a little bit older. That’s just a thing kids do. And early on, either I chose or it was chosen for me to part my hair on the right (before a certain time, photos suggest it was done for me—on the left).
Dad is a lefty and he also parts on the right.
Incidentally, there is research suggesting that there is some correlation between whorl direction and handedness, but it’s far from genetic gospel truth. As far as family lore is concerned (both my father and his mother were left handed, I have no idea who else), the parting hair on the opposite side thing is the general pattern and we two are exceptions.
