I'm wearing cosmetic armor from last year's Halloween event because I love Halloween.

The Khorovod is the slowest sword in the game, but has very high damage. When I last played, it was the end of the upgrade line it belonged to, but now has an endgame upgrade (the Sudaruska). It loses out in DPS against some faster swords one on one, but excells at crowd control due to its long reach and strong knockback.

The Firo Driver is a gun that shoots fire and burns enemies. The Polaris shoots electricity and shocks them. Fire is DoT, shock is DoT and can also interrupt enemy attacks, but can spread to other enemies or you.

The Vog Cub armor adds a bonus to attack speed, making the Khorovod more viable.

Shadow is one of three damage types discounting normal damage, the other two are piercing and elemental. Resistance and weakness is on a rock paper scissors basis. One of the two monster families that deals piercing damage, slimes, are mostly pitiful and don't turn up as much in high level play. Enemies that deal shadow damage do, and they are much more mean. Right now I am mostly specced to resist elemental because a lot of the monsters that deal it are fairly nasty. The aforementioned guns both do elemental damage and are largely identical strategically. Elemental ranged weapons are good because the game's equivalent of turrets are weak to it, and getting close enough for melee means dodging a hail of bullets.

Fact: Spiral Knights, when played at a high enough level, is more akin to a bullet hell than you'd expect

SpoilerIf you want the Skelly mask you might have to give up on one of the big things Vog is liked for in FSC: Burn protection. you will get set on fire SO much less in FSC with full vog, but every single enemy is a fiend and therefore deals shadow damage so... up to you.

you could also take the long route and try to get Snarbolax armor but... that's an even bigger pain than just getting Vog...

Sudaruska is generally only considered inferior to Triglav because Triglav is Sudaruska except its charge shot has Freeze instead of stun, which is overall more effective.
Polaris is yeah, basically if you want to take the time go for the polaris, it's really good in more situations than the Drivers or my Antigua series, its only real disadvantage is that because the shots can get so big they can sometimes go places you don't want them to
in FSC literally everything except the Trojans and Vanaduke himself is weak to elemental, so it might be worth it to have a backup Blitz Needle if you can manage (that involves having all 4 slots though unfortunately which... costs... ce/money... SIGH)

if you feel like it, you can buy the Operation Crimson Hammer DLC, it has two of the best 5* weapons in the game for FREE upon completing the T3 run (which is kind of hard admittedly) and the chance to make one of the best headgears in the game - Seerus' mask.

Also yeah I couldn't remember which had the speed bonus so I just kinda generalized there.

Everyone uses EVERYTHING except the weapons that are considered jokes, and that's usually for good reason. Could use Gran Faust! curse is fun.
Also have you thought about using bombs bombs are actually amazing

I've had an elevator pass before; I got a pretty good bit of use out of it at the time. If I bought it I'd probably use it to play with you guys some but also with some friends from my former guild (which was doing pretty well until it collapsed under the weight of the guild update)
