[IC] Swords Beneath the Starlight

Milo frowns when Dermid asks his question.  He takes a moment to answer.


"A... lot of places, I guess.  I grew up poor and not in the best of places for it.  Sometimes had to fight off the greedy, or desperate."

Another pause.


"I got some practice soldiering too, enough to learn the basics, at least.  It... well it didn't end up being for me.  It's not something I like to think about, and I'm not proud of it... but it got me here now, and that's something."

Milo then forces a smile before continuing.

"Besides, I'm hardly much next to you or Sir Abner.  Proper soldiers.  I just keep falling behind and being not much good for anything but taking a hit."
