Or if you had initially gone with "I was doing it because ~*lurkers*~, that's the point of why I did it." But you can't switch from "I did it because I'm the granola" to "Actually, it's optimal to get rid of lurkers" and then back to "Lighten up! don't take the game seriously!"

You're basically saying "nah, my actions shouldn't count for anything" while not having any positives to point to or having a consistent, sincere motivation.
