BLACK SUN
09-08-2018, 11:52 PM
One day, the Earth was normal.
Then, the next...
It just wasn't.
In the span of one night, all the color went away. Humanity blinked collectively and suddenly everything was a monotone black and white.
And yet, no real panic arised, as if with the color, even our feelings went away, slowly but surely.
It's been 2 years since that day.
Nobody knows why this happened, or if there's even a reason for it at all.
And maybe, there really was no reason for it. Maybe it was all pure chance. Maybe our planet lost the ultra-galactic space lottery and this was the punishment. It could be something serious, or something stupid, like aliens pulling a dumb prank on us.
Nobody really knows. Nobody will ever know either, probably.
So we keep going, as if nothing ever happened, our eyes slowly getting used to the striking contrast.
Our memories of colors slowly fading away, soon to be forgotten by newer generations.
Unfettered. Unfazed. Not even seeming to care.
All under the glaring, paradoxical light of our BLACK SUN.
ka-TLUNK.
The door closes behind you and you're left in silence at the entrance of your small APARTMENT. You've just come back from a walk to the SOLITARY HILL, just outside the CITY. It is your favorite place to be. It helps you relax, collect your thoughts, and shake away all the stress of the day.
Today, though, you might have been thinking a bit too much, so you've come home with a sense of restlessness and unease. It's probably a sign that today might not be a pleasant day at all, and yet it's barely 1 PM, so you've still got a long way until you can go to sleep.
What will you do?
