If I call a vote (I always make it clear when it's a vote, such as there being a few options but only one can win) then it's "democratic".
If I don't call a vote then it is "dictatorial" aka I just look at what everyone says and I pick one. That doesn't mean that multiple people seconding each other doesn't sway me. If I see that I tend to pay more attention to a suggestion, but there's always still a chance I'll go "Nah. I'm going with the one that has only a single person vouching for it."
Typically I find myself being swayed by "We should get this because-" "We shouldn't get this because-" suggestions when it comes to stocking up because sometimes suggestions can get all over the place and I'll just cling to the suggestion that looks like what it knows it's doing.
Rule of comedy is also powerful. I have a feeling there's a good chance we're getting at least 1 bunch of bananas even though they're useless over expensive rations (Which I do not trust) because it's funny.
Plot > Comedy = Cool > Random
