"I think..probably tomorrow? There's only enough time to make one thing I know how to make today, and I don't have the ingredient for it, and I'm trying to be careful about what I spend..."
"What ingredient do you need?" she asks.
"Iron ore. Or--well, actually the recipe would work with any kind of ore, like anything that can be melted down to make metal."
"Hmm." Miriam thinks for a second. "I have some scrap metal left over, if that would work."
You think about the recipe's description of what it needs. "Yeah, I think so." It hadn't really occurred to you that that could also work as an "ore" before now. (Scrap Metal added to [Ore] category) "I guess if you're willing to let me have a little, I could do it today, then."
Miriam nods. "I will meet you at your workshop after gathering some of it." She stands up and seems ready to run off right away.
"Oh--wait!"
"Hm?"
"Um, about the person who's been following me..they seem to leave me alone if I'm with someone. Maybe I could just go with you? And then show you where my house is."
"Your workshop's location is public knowledge." Miriam adjusts her glasses again. "I strongly doubt that whoever has been following you will harm you in broad daylight in front of dozens of witnesses. You might even be able to persuade them to come out into the open if they mean you no harm. But you may accompany me if you truly wish to."
Will you follow Miriam, try to draw out your follower, or do something else, like go home and try to ignore the feeling you're being followed?

Spoiler- Zero Motivation (passive): Eh. Miranda has less energy states than normal (Exhausted, Okay, Fine). It costs energy to perform regular move and attack actions in battle. Active skills require a large percentage of her maximum energy.
- Chill (passive): Whatever, it's fine. Miranda regains a small amount of energy anytime she isn't doing anything, regardless of if it's out of town or even in the middle of a battle.
- Spin Slash: Gotta respect the classics. Slashes everything in the 8 tiles surrounding Miranda for physical damage.
- Lazy Combo: Way too much effort. Performs six normal attacks in a row (which can have distinct targets), and then lacks the motivation to do anything at all for the next two turns (Chill is disabled during these turns).
- Slack Off (3/3): Miranda's favorite activity. Doesn't accomplish anything immediate, but restores a moderate amount of energy instead of spending it. Has a 2-turn cooldown and only works 3 times per battle.
Fee: 500 Cole

Ether Hatchet (Hatchet Throw + Ether Light): Do the thing! Targets any enemy on a straight line from Dave which he could hit with Hatchet Throw. Deals physical damage to the target and then magical damage to anything in the 3x3 square centered on the target.

SpoilerAs usual, a command of what to do can be elaborated with how to do it.
I started to write this update before realizing that Scrap Metal had already been introduced, and thought "hey, Miriam can introduce this new material Scrap Metal that also works as an ore". Well, it makes more sense that it can be used as that anyway. And it's always fun to play off my mistakes as the main character's learning something new.
