Where are you? Underwater?

You're not sure. A glance out of the nearest window seems to suggest that you are in fact underwater, though it looks remarkably still out there.

The last thing you remember before right now was lying in bed trying to get some sleep. You were finding it difficult because it was going to be your birthday tomorrow and you were looking forward to going out to the new arcade complex with your friends.

You check your pockets. They contain:[

• one damp birthday card with its message rendered smudged and unreadable
  
• one battered and crumpled party hat
  
• one party ummm blower? you're not sure what these are called actually, it's the thing that you put in your mouth and blow and a miserable parp happens. except this one doesn't because it's wet and ruined.
  
• one badge with a green smiley face on it
  
• three sour guava flavour candies
  
• one mysterious green plastic pyramidal object

Drink as much as you can as fast as you can

Lick the water. Is it salty?

In the interests of experimentation you scoop up some of the water and gingerly taste it. Not salty exactly. Kind of sweet like sugarwater? Not too bad. Then after a second...

It hits you. Everything is going dark. You feel unsteady on your feet. Your head is swimming. You suddenly feel boiling hot and the water beneath you feels so heavy.

You want to lie down but some part of you knows that's not a great idea right now.

You slump against the wall and collapse into blackness.
