If the book can heal itself, it should! Otherwise, it should flee and leave us to keep on fighting. Even if strong Lightning is it's weakness, the Wing seems to absorb the weaker Lightning Ada can dish out right now... so we might want to stick to Ice. And encourage Rahasya to bring out any heavy-hitting skills they have if they want to keep their book in one piece.

AUBREY
"Rahasya, I think it's time to let loose."

RAHASYA
"Let what loose?"

AUBREY
"I don't know, what's your strongest attack?"
"That one!"

Their expression sours.

RAHASYA
"That is unwise."

AUBREY
"It'll keep your book in one piece, right?"

RAHASYA
"My 'strongest technique' targets anything foreign to my realm."
"Do you want to die?"

Aubrey knows by their tone that's not a hollow threat.

RAHASYA
"The Greater Wing only appeared because of you."
"Perhaps I should use it..."

AUBREY
"Nevermind, whatever! Do what you want. It was just a suggestion."
"Not even one of mine, at that."

RAHASYA
"You have many opinions for a backseat combatant."

Aubrey blushes.

AUBREY
"That's... nngh."

Aubrey shields her eyes from Ada's blinding magic. When she opens them again, the Greater Wing is literally smoking—along with Rahasya's house.

AUBREY
"... Well."
"Great job, Ada."

RAHASYA
"What... did you do...?"

All three of their eyes widen to saucers.

RAHASYA
"And why didn't you do it earlier!?"

AUBREY
"The voices didn't tell me to?"

RAHASYA
"So, this is the line between genius and insanity..."

Aubrey opens her mouth to protest, then leaves it be.

Technically, Aubrey isn't using magic so much as giving it to Ada, but more's the better if Rahasya thinks she's some prodigious foreign mage.

RAHASYA
"I suppose we should finish this. Pardon my crudeness."

They whip back an arm, and—

AUBREY

The Greater Wing looks more like a sooty feather duster than a majestic hellbird, now, feathers matted and bleeding smoke into the air. It gives a weak, if defiant caw.
