A tree with the eggs on it grows a face, and is like "wtf what is all this shit on me ew get it off" and starts vibrating angrily.

Suddenly NED had a thought NED couldn't stop! Hastily NED moved into the clearing done by the woodbores then closed its eye. NED opened its eye and continued on towards the egg.

After NED left the area a tree came to life.

Whining of wood bending is heard and a face formed on the main body of the tree.
The face then opened its eyes and saw the slimy eggs.

Showing disgust in what it saw, It shook its face which tore out of the tree. Fibres stinged and snapped away from the head.

The sides of the tree then split apart to form arms. The living tree then moved its hand over its face and wiped the eggs away. The brunch broke away, leaving only a plate of bark the covered the ents face.

A humanoid shape parted from the tree, scattering wood chips and fibre. Its feet ripped out from the ground, creating mounds of earth around it as it step out of the earth.

The tree ent then wiped itself down, brushing away wood dust and chips from its barkless body, save the face.

The ent did not like its surroundings, eggs and goo covering the trees around it.
Making a growl of displeasure, it moved away from the eggs, wobbling as it was adjusting to walking for the first time.

Well now, the Stumpkin are doing quite well for themselves. Actual shelters! Art! I dare say we have the foundations for a new culture right here... Though with the flying shark about this budding culture might not be around too much longer. Far too early to call it, but an outside intervention may be needed.

Looking out of the clearing, the ent saw the Stumpkins tree village.
The tall white trees and the glowing blue paintings instantly fascinated the ent.
It lumbered its way in that direction.

Gift of Intervention

Given how short their existence has been, it would be a darn shame for something too horrendous to happen. As a gift to each present and future species they will have *one* free Intervention. They will not be informed of this until the first time Intervention may be necessary. Of course, they can turn down the offer and save their one Intervention until later.
(Said later may be them realizing that no, they really can't handle it on their own.)

Secretly one of the Vanar had fallen in love with the stumpkins and wished them no more harm.
Backing away from the other Vanar and hidden within the void, the vanar sung quietly a song of boon.

This boon took the form of a small bird, small enough to go unnoticed by the others.
It flew into the vision portal and down into the world, unnoticed by the vanar.
Except Aiu, which nothing can be hidden.
keep quiet until its boon had been played out.

The cube settled, nestled inside the mountains. From there the cube saw, through the eye of NED, recording all that NED saw, heard, felt and thought.

And what NED saw was the egg with legs, trying to get the pink spike things off, with little success

Ned is doing quite well considering they haven't existed terribly long. As a small outside gift for their work, a backpack to carry things. Keep up the good work Ned!
