The least of which is the fact that any items he makes will work better if they are used in a way he expects/wants them to be. If there's any line of conversation that leads to him acting as leader in this situation it would be wise to encourage it.

>Derrick: Maybe you should start a conversation about what you all should be doing. Talking to the others about the things they can do, and what items and equipment they have with them will probably give you a better picture of the situation. While that is happening you could have the realm attendants combine forces to look at Lethos' stats. Remember, Sun Tzu said “If you know the enemy and know yourself, you need not fear the result of a hundred battles. If you know yourself but not the enemy, for every victory gained you will also suffer a defeat. If you know neither the enemy nor yourself, you will succumb in every battle.”

comman sounds great, except for the Sun Tzu part, i'd take that one out
