Ya know, the second I saw 'The arachophobe', I thought of Worm. And now we have a character with some measure of control over spiders and the same name as one of the characters from that story.

More analytically, they appear to be trapped in a travelling circus cage-carriage. Several possibilities there.

If you ride on its back, can it dislodge you?
