The thread for flipping shits (and tables)

To pair with Ixcaliber's rant (I got second-hand frustration from reading it. My sympathy is with you on that one.) here's my petty rant:

SpoilerSo here I was, working on my new adventure. I've felt like I already messed it all up by making it a fan adventure and not executing the beginning as great as I could've executed it, but gosh darn it I was determined to make it work SOMEHOW. Too many projects have gone to the dust mites and even if this was going to be the thing that breaks me, I might as well finish it in the end.

So I opened MSPaint and worked for a gosh darn hour on the placement and sketch of Panel 1. After it was all done and good, I did the selection tool, wrapped that shizzle around my fudging sketch, and tried to move it like I had done the last million times: with the arrow keys instead of the mouse because the arrow keys were a whole lot more specific.

But I was holding down the control key while I was doing it and instead of a nice and tidy translation, I got something that looked like a piece of modern art.


This. Except with more color and better graphics.

Apparently, holding down the Ctrl key while dragging around an image makes a copy of that image every pixel you move it, making some sort of protruding hellscape that is immune to the wonders of Ctrl-Z if you don't catch on quick enough that it happened.

So yeah.

I was tempted to punch my laptop until it said sorry, but instead decided to shove my anger into tolerance and redo the entire panel. I managed to get another half hour of work done before going "fudge it" and banishing the unfinished shiz into the depths of my recycling bin. Then I went to sleep because sleep was good and kicking the wall until it made an indent was not.

The good news is, this mis-hap managed to inspire me to base the story about someone other than the MC because fudge that person. Fudge them and the panel they were first in.
