Anyways, seconding the Magnet+Notepad for inventory, but I want to say that *some* sort of weapon would be better than just weak pyrokinesis? Maybe something that only takes up 1 space? Do we have anything like that?

I think you're underestimating Slate's pyrokinesis. He's apparently skilled enough with it and it's powerful enough to cook with. That means it should at least be good enough to deal some damage.
