Spoilerwe don't have a dream thread and I'm too tired to make one right now so so don't mind this spoiler if you're wanting to get back to the very interesting and sexy topic of "how do we sound"?
I basically woke up in terror at the nightmare thought of discovering that Oroborites (Godbot's gradual massacre character - an ever evolving swarm of self sufficient mandibled insects) had gained the ability to burrow into someone's spine and take control of them.
In the dream I was reading an article about an excavation site and some natural features, but in those pictures of what were supposedly remote areas, there were random people scattered about, all walking towards some destination but not really acknowledging one another. That article was followed by another which talke mostly about the harmlessness of a new insect-type pet, filled with ways to care for them and touting their friendliness. The tone of the article, however, was one of someone trying desperately to warn the reader of something while being forced to write something else. Like the small creature controlling the author hadn't picked up on the finer points and insinuations of written communication. There was one point where the article read: "this is the most important fact about the [pets name]" and that sentence was immediately followed by some in-browser text entry box whose default text read: "She died on [date]". But the article continued as if it was unaware that form was there.
Realizing the implications I started my in-dream freak out. I was convinced there was something trying to get to my precious spine and I ran through my house trying to turn on all of the lights. None of them worked. People and friends who had been visiting started to file out of the house, dismissing my fears and ignoring my pleas. Eventually I ran outside where I was frantically looking in all directions trying to stop whatever flying creature was trying to perch on my vertebrae. I struggled for a moment before I realized I was still in bed, I hadn't fled, and I was still in danger.
Eventually the dream-terror faded and I pulled out my phone, checked to see what the heck that little grand battle bug I had seen so many avatar pictures of actually was, was relieved to find out it only consumed and murdered things brutally and did not spine-burrow. And I hopped on to share it with you guys.
Anyway, that is all. We need a dream thread.
