SpoilerSandshrew are on average about 2'0" tall and weigh 26lbs. This specimen is a little leaner than usual, but not particularly out of the ordinary.
Sandshrew live in communal burrows, typically in arid regions as they despise wetness and low temperatures. They emerge to hunt when the sun is high, and retreat underground as the temperature drops.
Their burrows are often full of small inedible objects they have gathered for unknown reasons.
Their hard scales repel the physical attacks of other desert animals, and when threatened they curl into a tight ball for extra protection. If an enemy bypasses their defences, they will burrow away to escape.

They are often known to use Scratch, Defence Curl, Sand Attack, Rollout, and Rapid Spin. Stronger individuals use Fury Swipes and Magnitude.
Some have been known to attack from range with Swift and Poison Sting, but they usually prefer to fight in close quarters.
