Black Zenith [Adventure RPG / Chapter Four: Fires of Heaven]
RE: Black Zenith [Adventure RPG / Chapter Four: Fires of Heaven]
Several of the guards immediately draw their swords in anger, and the lead guard demands, "Do you insult His Majesty, question His authority and deny His guardsmen within the walls of His own city? Do you dare?!"
RE: Black Zenith [Adventure RPG / Chapter Four: Fires of Heaven]
Savannah slaps Watson's shoulder. "Hey, what the heck are you doing? You can't just rag on people the moment ya meet 'em." She glares and then turns to the guards.

"Jeez, chill out, guys. We ain't even know who this 'Majesty' is, I think. We literally just got here." Despite her words, Savannah's hand slowly creeps backward, tightening her fingers around the shaft of her spear.
RE: Black Zenith [Adventure RPG / Chapter Four: Fires of Heaven]
Some of the guards relax a little, but their leader doesnt seem convinced, and turns his glare on Savannah. "Turn in your weapons and we shall escort you to your destination." He says with obvious hostility.

Meanwhile, Myra still rests on Bohw's shoulder in her raven form, blinking dismally at the events that are happening around her. "Oh, bother," she speaks to her group alone through her telepathy so that the guards are not aware of her sentience, "these guards aren't even worth our time...Let me just start a fire a few blocks down for these men to be distracted with, and be done with it!"
RE: Black Zenith [Adventure RPG / Chapter Four: Fires of Heaven]
Unfortunately, not all of us are lucky or magical enough to hear Myra's plans in a normal voice, as Watson will show you. Appendix 1: He is frantically gesticulating due to the sheer amount of INDISCRIMINATE SCREAMING and BIRD CAWING ravaging his mind.

Actually, this is the only evidence you'll need as Watson looks to be a disturbed gentleman for the duration of Myra's telepathy.

RE: Black Zenith [Adventure RPG / Chapter Four: Fires of Heaven]
Myra flutters her wings slightly in frustration, pauses a moment in thought, and then turns her head a bit to face Bohw. "...I suggest a new plan: I talk into Watson's brain, and we use his monkey-like antics as the distraction. How will they ever catch us when they'll have a dancing crazy man in a top hat to keep them busy?"
RE: Black Zenith [Adventure RPG / Chapter Four: Fires of Heaven]
Bohw scratches her head with a worried expression, it wasn't her genuine feelings, in truth she was rather irritated, but she was trying to hide her telepathic response to the bird on her shoulder. <i>"Calm yourself, let me try and sort this out, I'd rather we all didn't get thrown into a cell."<i>

She then raises a hand to interject, "On what grounds?" Bohw asks with an equally blunt response. "Sorry, Sir, but I would like to know why you're arresting us." She lifted the brim of her hat with one hand and held her other fist at her chest, looking at the other leader with a hurt expression. Looking up at the much taller man, she was putting on an effort to make herself look more innocent, the cute bird on her shoulder possibly contributing to her act. "I mean, you didn't say arrest... but please sir! My friends mean no ill intention to you, your kingdom or your Majesty! Surely if you tell us what your reason for approaching us, we can be civil about this!"

While Bohw talked, Mayor had moved behind her and standed tall and firm, glancing up as he folded his arms behind his back with respect towards them. He was almost acting in a different manner entirely in the presence of these guards, as if he was about to salute to them even, threatening as he was he strangely seemed non-hostile to the group.
RE: Black Zenith [Adventure RPG / Chapter Four: Fires of Heaven]
"You are charged with assault, theft, murder, high treason and, most recently, unauthorized entry." He says, giving a nod towards the airship. "You are to be brought before His Majesty for judgement. Lay down your weapons or they will be taken from you by force. Now."
RE: Black Zenith [Adventure RPG / Chapter Four: Fires of Heaven]
Assault, theft, murder, Bohw had technically done all those crimes, her expression barely changing in response to the wild claims as a result, even if they were all for a greater cause. Still, she flinched back as she forced an gloomy expression, trying to look as if she was hurt by his wild assumptions. "F-...Fine, I won't cause a fuss, sir." Bohw stammered, reaching for the straps on her quiver and her side pouch, removing them both before handing them out in front of her. Although, she made extra care to not reveal any of the hidden bombs hiding on her person, nor did she hand over her longbow.

"But... It's only me you'll want." Bohw pleaded, "I am the leader of this party, you only need to consult me for these claims. These people have no relevance to the claims and are merely travelers, seeking refuge in the city. I'll go quietly, but leave them out of this."
RE: Black Zenith [Adventure RPG / Chapter Four: Fires of Heaven]
"Wh-!" Savannah reeled back in surprise at the charges. Murder? Theft? Treason?! "Woah woah woah! Hold up, nuh uh." Okay, so technically she had murdered a few people. But they're people hellbent on killing everyone else so it's justified. She tightened her grip on her spear, narrowing her eyes and barring her teeth.

"We've never even been here before! How could we have committed all these crimes?! I'm callin' bullshit on this!" Savannah turned to glance at Bohw. "'Ey, don't surrender to them! We didn't treason anyone! Heck, if anything, they're doing the treason by arresting us!"
RE: Black Zenith [Adventure RPG / Chapter Four: Fires of Heaven]
Bohw glanced over at Savannah, she had a bit of a plan in her head, but convincing everyone might be harder than she thought. "I haven't done anything, neither have you. I'll talk to their leader and sort this out before lunchtime, don't worry."

Mayor was less that convinced however, looking very distraught about everything that's happening right now.
RE: Black Zenith [Adventure RPG / Chapter Four: Fires of Heaven]
"The King will be the judge of that." Says the guard in response to Bohw. "I dont have the patience to listen to your claims of innocence. Will you come quietly... Or not?"
RE: Black Zenith [Adventure RPG / Chapter Four: Fires of Heaven]
Bohw was growing annoyed with the man's stubbornness, but gritted her teeth and still pressed on. "I said I would go silently, if you left them out of it. If you wanted, you could request their summons, I'm sure you have the authority, but ultimately they have taken no part in such crimes, I swear it."

Even as Bohw said that, Mayor was slowly getting more and more threatening looking with the lead guardsman, slowly beginning to loom over her as he reached for his shield. Mayor was only wishing to protect the party, but he wasn't doing a good job to protect his case.
RE: Black Zenith [Adventure RPG / Chapter Four: Fires of Heaven]
Watson was still madly waving his hands in the air in the background when he heard the fallacious allegations being held against his comrades who actually didn't want anything to do with him in the first place!

He would do something if SOMEONE would stop staticizing him!

RE: Black Zenith [Adventure RPG / Chapter Four: Fires of Heaven]
Myra nearly fell off of Bohw's shoulder, startled by this development for quite a few reasons. She peered over at Mayor for but a moment, then nodded. Her telepathy was still trained only on her allies, but she amplified her mind's voice in Watson's mind in particular. A parting gift, of sorts! "...Right. This bird's gotta fly! ...Good luck, Mayor." Without further ado, Myra quickly jumped off of her perch and took to the skies above, staying clear from the guards attempting to detain them. Seeking refuge on top of a roof beside a chimney some turns in the road away, Myra attempts to cast a cloaking spell of sorts on herself so that her magic cannot be detected or tracked.

As soon as Myra starts moving, the guard captain points at her and one of the nearby guardsmen immediately steps forward, casting a spell launching an etheric bola at Myra as she ascends. The bola only clips one of Myra's talons to little effect, though the paralyzing effect she briefly feels is none too pleasant. The guard curses as Myra completes her cloaking spell (roll 12+9, crit), turning her invisible save for a slight shimmer in the air where she passes.
RE: Black Zenith [Adventure RPG / Chapter Four: Fires of Heaven]
Mayor was about to respond in kind and punch the offending guardsman in the throat, threatening him with some guttural and entirely unnatural scraping noise. But Bohw interupted him, probably for the best. "Are you quite done?" She rudely commented, dropping her act as her tone returned to a more serious one. "Lets go, you've wasted enough of my time as it is."

She folded her arms with disinterest, longbow still slung over her shoulder as she glanced over in vague direction of where Myra vanished and Mayor relaxed in his stance, even if the furious glow of his eyes said a different emotion entirely.
RE: Black Zenith [Adventure RPG / Chapter Four: Fires of Heaven]
The captain glowers at the spot where Myra vanished, then glances at two nearby guardsmen. "Anthoran, Jorrick, search the area and find that blasted bird. You have ten minutes."

He then looks back at Bohw, waving another pair of guards forward. They take up position beside Bohw, laying one hand on her shoulders each and start trying to steadily tow her in the direction of the castle. However, the other guards remain behind.

"So?" asks the captain with expectation, looking at the rest of you.
RE: Black Zenith [Adventure RPG / Chapter Four: Fires of Heaven]
After Myra leaves and Watson collects himself, he responds.

"I have done nothing of the sort and for you to assume such is callous and repugnant!" Watson exclaimed, his arms folded as he snobbishly turns his nose away at them.

The guards actually reek pretty badly, and this was all he could do to avoid their offensive odour without telling them outright.

Holy shit this is still going.
I think this might be the longest running adventure game from the mspaforums ever.

Also, sorry for having vanished off the face of the earth for over a year, I got caught up in things like graduating from high school, saving up money, going to college, etc. I can't believe my first year of college is over already.

Anyway, don't mind me, I'm just dropping by because I happened to be looking through old posts of mine for some nostalgia.
