Add a sentence to the story

Tears flow from Constantine's tear ducts, saying "Pure poetry, Jane."

She coughed.

According to movie and soap opera cliches, the cough meant that Jane was near the end of her life.

"Oh, I'm sorry, I've just been smoking heavily while researching this microbiological breakthrough," Jane lied through her teeth.

She didn't want to admit that her asthma was acting up again.

Jane had the deadliest asthma of them all; if she didn't find that gut microbiota soon she would die without making her mark on scientific history.

Rudy answered the phone call and asked, "Who's this?"

“Uber. Am outside.”

But Rudy never called for an Uber.

Rudy started rifling through the piles of junk on their desk while stalling the caller for time.

Eventually Rudy discovered a note, which said: "QXJK LPYM".

Rudy wasn't sure what this meant so they put the note in their pocket.

"Take that out of your pocket," the Uber driver commanded Ruby.

Then, the sky flashed, and an alien robot probe crash landed onto the asphalt, smoking and inanimate, but otherwise fine.

"It missed," muttered Ruby.

Rudy suddenly had to use the bathroom.

The probe twitched, and then slowly stood up like a golem of metal plates and disorderly wires, with panic clear in its movement as it runs towards the taxi, the nearest entities it could run to.

After seeing it start to shoot the taxi driver outside with a big red death ray, Rudy didn't have to use the bathroom anymore.

Recovering themselves, Rudy made their way in an orderly fashion out of their designated fire exit as they had been drilled to.

The probe seems to be in ever greater panic, it runs faster with the gait of a crying child, and yelling "Get these thing off me!"

After exiting the building, Rudy had to think of how they would get away from the probe without being seen... and then Rudy saw a big cardboard box...
