Savannah watched in quiet surprise as the stone door splits open, taking a step back. Not exactly what she expected to happen. That's not to say she expected anything out of the weird door, except for maybe not opening. She catches sight of the man in there leaping to his feet, her hands tightly squeezing the grip of the giant greatsword.

"'Ey buddy, you best back off." Savannah, with a labored grunt, heaves the Ancient Greatsword off of her shoulder, holding it at the ready in front of her. Holy piss this thing is heavy. "We ain't got nothin' of yours. Specially not fire." She takes a step forward, putting herself at Myra's side instead of behind her.
RE: Black Zenith [Adventure RPG / Chapter Four: Fires of Heaven]
As you speak, Remah's focus shifts to you and he takes a step towards you as he examines you, his gaze fluttering about wildly as if to take everything in faster.

"You lie!" He shouts in anger. "I sense the flame on you. On you!" He says, turning towards Watson to point accusingly at him with his strange glaive.

"You took it and stole it and vanished forever, the thieves of times long past! Yes, i understand now, my time used against me. If I slay you now, shall it never have happened? Will I be myself again?" He laughs bitterly. "Pray that it be so, thieves. Must maintain focus, must maintain order!"

With that, he flings the length of ivory at Savannah like a dagger, then everything seems to slow down.
RE: Black Zenith [Adventure RPG / Chapter Four: Fires of Heaven]
"Lay off, freak! I told you, wa ain't got any idea what you're talkin' about!" Savannah glares at the man, growling angrily. "None of us took your stupid 'flame' or vanished or anything. I don't even know who you are!" She watches as he raises his weapon, shifting hers to draw attention to it. Not that it needed help with that endeavor.

"Slay us? Like hell you will!" Before she can think up a threat to spit out at Remah, he throws that thing he was fiddling with at her. Time seems to slow around her, but she simply reacts and moves the greatsword up to block the projectile.
RE: Black Zenith [Adventure RPG / Chapter Four: Fires of Heaven]
Bohw grumbled at Thunderpaw, muttering something under her breath that not even his keen ears could hear. His explanation and excuses didn't help, she was still angry, but at least he was willing to accept what he did was wrong. Moving her glare from the floor, she took note of the giant golem that was picking up Thunderpaw's coin that he carelessly threw around, placing the gold back into the pouch as he did.

"...Yeah, me too." She said, her tone a mix of bitterness and relief. "Just... don't... you know, do that again." Bohw paused to wipe her eye, before turning the rest of her body towards Mayor. "What are you doing you big hunk of metal, go help the others." Mayor picked up the last of the coin and shoved the purse back into Thunderpaw's hands, taking Bohw's orders and running off after the others. "C'mon, we can't dawdle here all day, actions speak louder than words, lets go." She then said to Thunderpaw, sticking her hands in her coat pockets as she followed after Mayor.

Mayor rejoined the group before they did, giving a worried glance to a frozen Razan as he entered the room to figure out what was happening. He arrived just in time to spot an old ally thought he'd never see again... attacking one of his new allies in a fit of madness. This was pretty bad, the first thing he did was attempt to throw himself between the apparent stranger and the party, some attempt to defuse the situation before it got hairy.

Its as if you can think, but cant react. You see the spike streak towards you, flipping end over end in slow motion. You move your hands, but you can tell that the reaction is far too late, having barely moved the blade at all when the tip of the projectile sinks into your shoulder, inflicting 320 damage (roll 5). You know power, then, like a fount of energy blossoming in your mind alongside the knot of pain in your shoulder. Then, while you are still stunned, Remah is on you, slashing at you with his glaive-spear for 520 damage and pulling the spike from your shoulder with his left hand. He assumes a battle stance facing you and your allies, spear at the ready.

Mayor hurries to intervene as soon as he realizes what is happening, lumbering towards his allies, but not a moment later, everything slows down and he is forced to watch as Remah attacks like a streak of lightning, unnaturally fast when viewed at this new speed. Yet as Remah steps back from Savannah, Mayor arrives, ready to intercept further attacks on her. (Roll 20)

Mayor immediately threw his hands outwards as he stepped between Remah and the group a second time, giving a show of humility as he lowered his head. With his arms out stretched, he intentionally stood between Remah and the party, not just to stop Remah from attacking his friends but to also stop his friends from murdering him too. There was no need to fight this man and even if they did, Mayor had his doubts if they could even beat him. He just hoped Remah would recognize Mayor, this was not the same body he had when they split apart.

In the very least, he could stall till his crystal power would awaken again, then he will definitely recognize him, but how in the world would they stall against the man that time waits for?

Bohw arrived shortly afterwards, ignoring the frozen Razan in favor of investigating the sounds of violence. She didn't like what she first saw, "Oy oy oy! What in the bleeding hell is going on here?!" She shouted, grabbing her longbow to load an arrow into the string, "Don't tell me there's more insane bastards down here!"

"This crackpot's stabbin' me with his stupid antler and that dumbass glaive!" Savannah responded, adjusting her hold on the Ancient Greatsword. She stomped forward, speed hampered by the giant sword, and plowed towards Remah.

"Outta the way!" Savannah pushed past Mayor and braced her knees, swinging her weapon at her attacker in a large cleave that sliced through the air with a whistle.

Oh for goodness sakes, was there no rest anywhere!? "You aught to know by now, Lass. There's insane bastards in every corner!"

Of all the ways Thunderpaw wanted to get rid of Watson, death by the hands of half-painted nutcases with pointy sticks was not one of those preferred! He quickly moved to draw his throwing ha- that's right, he was out of those. Damnit, where's an armory when you need one!?

Fine! Keeping Watson alive also works! The freshly-crowned lord would pull out his Ankh of Restoration and attempt to keep Watson from dying as he approached the battlefield for up-close assaults. Perhaps some blunt-force trauma ought to set this guy's priorities straight!

Having just stabbed him, Remah dashes past Watson, conjuring and hurling a spear of lightning at Renzo in one smooth motion, striking him in the chest with a blast of thunder. Without stopping, Remah leaps onto the spear then leaps off of it, performing a frontal double flip, Remah's boots connecting with the back of Renzo's skull in a brutal display of accuracy, dealing 960 damage and sending the victimized painter reeling. For his part, Remah lands gracefully, crouching for a moment before he starts conjuring bolts of lightning to hurl at anyone within his sight in a barrage of attacks, dealing 240 damage to everyone save Savannah, who still has the protection of Mayor.

Following your sudden head blow, you find it hard to focus. But thats not going to stop you; an artist must suffer for their art, and it shall be the greater for it. You fling a glob of paint at Remah, striking him full in the face while he is still recovering from his assault. The effect is nigh instantaneous, lowering his defense AND hit by 6. Remah certainly doesnt seem to recognize Mayor, or if he does he gives no sign of it. From his earlier action however, it seems that he is very well aware of what Mayor is trying to accomplish by putting himself in the way; and hes not having any of it. And it seems that neither are his companions.

Mayor considers whether or not he should punch Remah in retaliation for zapping Bohw with a lightning spear. There is still time, though hesitation might yet see Remah moving out of Mayor's range of action.

While he is recovering from his flashy attack, you charge at Remah and swing your blade at him in an arcing slash, letting the crippling weight of the blade transfer into a devastating blow that sends him staggering, dealing 630 damage (roll 13+11, crit) and splattering crimson blood on the cavern floor.

You're fairly sure you see several weapon racks amidst the other furniture within the odd room the man came from, actually. They mostly hold spears and variations of spears, though.

Then you heal Watson for 578 health! (roll 16+6, crit)

Despite the odd turn that time has taken, you make good progress and have now joined your allies. Remah seems to be recovering, however, and with his comparative speed there is no telling where he will strike next.

It was hard not to get her body into the battle when her head was asking a million questions, but the ravenfolk nonetheless took up arms with the Grovekeeper and spouted without thinking, "Is he talking about that explosion earlier? What was that about, anyway, I don't think I ever got that answered!"

While everyone is preoccupied with battle, Myra takes stock of the situation. The ravenfolk makes her way over to the table where the crystal and the orb-in-the-device are, hoping that she can check the items out without getting hit by a wayward spell or blade. Are these his items?
RE: Black Zenith [Adventure RPG / Chapter Four: Fires of Heaven]
Blimey Timey Bastard!

With swiftness off the table, Thunderpaw does the next best thing and makes a charge for Remiah with hammer drawn. Rather than take the bold route and striking him with a hammer, however, the lord approached with a counter stance in mind. The only thing he could safely predict about this time fluxing is that it was being exploited before attacks to guarentee a stronger hit and dodge blows.

Thus, if Thunderpaw approaches with that in mind he can take a sidestep around where he THINKS an attack is likely to come from once the timey wimey things begins. Similarly, he can attempt to strike where he thinks Remiah will end up after the time bending for a solid blow. Dodging and striking not where Remiah was, but where he planned to be.

Better than swinging around in the air at least.

Savannah barely manages to keep the mammoth sword in check, reeling it in before it can send her spinning. What a beast of a weapon it is. There's a certain... energy about it as well, a tingling sensation that flows into her arms and tickles her palms. Must be that... spell Myra was talking about. Savannah cracks her neck, stepping up again.

The step turns into a forward leap. Savannah darts forward, straining her muscles to bring the weapon above her head. Once she's close enough to Remah, she unclenches her muscles, letting gravity do the work. As it falls, that tingling feeling bursts out of Savannah's hands as her thumb brushes the ruby in the hilt, the energy erupting into a flame that cloaks the blade as it cleaves.
RE: Black Zenith [Adventure RPG / Chapter Four: Fires of Heaven]
Bohw yelps from the shock, a noise Mayor could easily hear over all the commotion. Mayor was so tired of all this bullshit, watching his friends die, fighting twisted versions of his friends and feeling hopeless about both of them. The noise from Bohw finally pushes the golem over that edge and something inside him snaps, quite literally, an audible snapping sound is heard as Mayor's eyes pulse red with blind rage, sparking with the intensity of a wildfire.

Mayor doesn't hesitate, accompanying his actions with a horrible screeching noise, he lashes out at Remah to counter-attack. While the quick bastard was still within arm's reach, he reached out to grab whatever limb he could and twist it, Sabotaging any of his attempts to move around the room easily. Mayor was torn between beating some sense into him and just wanting to punch things, fortunately both desires could be satisfied like this.

Bohw snarled, what a joke this was. She couldn't even get a good shot off at the warping man without the risk of hitting someone else in the room, it was a total melee and it was a mess. Bohw just prepared, drawing another red rune in the air to trade a small amount of her life for power again, although this time she thought it would be much more use to someone else. Once the rune was complete, Bohw guided it towards Savannah, the spell seeking out it's target and binding itself to her back.

Remah falls into a diveroll, ducking beneath Savannah's cleaving blade and dashing straight for Bohw, stabbing at her with a lunging onehanded spear thrust for 300 damage.

There is beauty to be had in the slaying of a powerful enemy. And so you frame Remah for the murdermachine!

You slip through the doorway, getting a closer look at the items on the table. You identify the orb-thing as a device for conjuring basic food products. They're rather uncommon, but not so much that you havnt heard of them. Apparently there was a debacle a hundred years back or so when the first ones were made, something about the poorer part of the populace demanding that the things be mass produced to solve hunger. The details escape you, but apparently it wasnt as simple as that and the false hope incited in those people quite nearly led to a revolt before the dispute ended. The things still exist today though, but since only those with any kind of money can afford the things paired with the bland quality of the food produced by them they are usually only found in churches and the like.

You idly glance at the title of the topmost book, a thin volume called 'The Last Unicorn'. Your attention is focused on the crystal, however, lying innocently on the table among books and cutlery. Its the same type as those you know alright, but it is a dull color, lacking the inner glow of those you already know.

Then, unbeknownst to you, Remah mutters a curse and throws the long ivory spike at your back. It flickers past you, striking the wall beside you.

To her allies, it looks as though Myra and most of the room is then enveloped in a flickering bubble of energy, lost to sight.

You observe Remah's swift movement as he starts his charge towards Bohw, then move to intercept. You would never be able to beat him there in time, but you can retaliate in her stead, and so you do by swinging your hammer at his back to coincide with Remah's own attack, striking him for 604 damage! (roll 17+6)

Your observations also let you notice that the blood Remah spilled earlier is starting to... boil? It writhes and turns dark, and as it does your scars begin to throb.

Remah, as he turned to throw the length of ivory at Myra, had idly glanced at you. Now he takes a step to the side, artfully moving himself beyond the reach of your blade with such a simple action.
