Chrometia II [In which we have to experience suffering again]

Hey guys! Since MSPAForums sort of kicked the bucket (temporarily, hopefully) I decided to move my adventure over here. I hope you all like it! I'm going to post the last 19 pages here and you can read it. I'll explain what exactly is going on in a spoiler at the end because it's probably confusing to someone who just started reading. Thank you!

???: Ugh, why am I so tired...? How long was I asleep?

> Get up.



After finding the strength to lift himself up, the boy slides off of the bed, or whatever it was he was sleeping on. He gets the feeling he was sleeping for years. Considering how weak and tired he feels, it would be rather plausible. He racks his brain for what he was doing before he was asleep, but can't find any answers there.

He observes the area around him. It's rather desolate and dusty, and he can spot some spider webs in the corners of the room. He wonders where exactly he is. This thought draws another blank within him, causing him to feel very confused and irritated. His legs start to feel like jello after only a few minutes of standing on them.

The more he thinks, the more he realizes that he knows next to nothing about himself. What exactly is his name? He can't seem to come up with one. He decides that he should just come up with one on the spot so he doesn't go throughout his time nameless.

> Go to the fridge and get some orange juice while you try to come up with something.



He suddenly is feeling very parched, and he decides to go over to the fridge in the corner of the room to see if he can find something to drink, preferably orange juice.

He opens the door to the fridge and only finds deadly chemicals and disappointment. He doesn't know what he was expecting.

> Your name is Scrungus, obviously!



While he is scrutinizing the deadly chemicals, a plethora of names pop into his name, one of them being Scrungus. He feels very conflicted and confused, wondering why he would suddenly come up with such things in a sudden instant. And also, why would he ever think of naming himself Scrungus, of all things! He might have amnesia, but he definitely knows that is not an acceptable name. Part of him feels rather anxious that all of these ideas came to his head without any effort. He calms himself down and blames this on drowsiness.

He has other names to choose from... Jack, Marcus, Ron, Jeff, Jeremiah, Samuel, Ellis... Hm...

> Ellis Finster.



He picks the name Ellis Finster. The name Ellis has a certain nostalgic feeling about it, and Finster just seems to fit. That settles that.

> Check out the weird black shower with the hoses.



He goes to the left corner of the room to check out the odd contraption.

When he looks closer to it, he realizes that it's not a black shower at all. It's a tube filled with a pure black gooey substance. The two hoses are circling the liquid in and out of the tube, making an odd, rhythmic whrring noise. Ellis finds the liquid terrifying and doesn't want to go anywhere near it.

> Break the glass and take a shower in the liquid.



He feels every inch of himself refusing to that idea. He shudders. The same anxiety he had when he was looking at the chemicals comes back and he is snapped into lucidity. A sudden thought comes to him. What if he's not exactly alone? His head feels oddly heavy for just him and he swears he can feel three protruding voices within his head... He focuses a bit more.

???: Finally, the kid notices! I've been giving him useless tasks for the past five minutes. I was starting to think he was just daft.
???: I was at least trying to be ambiguous... It would be bad to creep him out, right?

His head begins to pound.

YM: Uhm, hello, Ellis! I think an introduction is in order. We're Multus. We already know about you, so you don't have to say anything!
RM: It's kind of impossible not to know about you considering we're trapped in your head. It's very irritating.
BM: Uh, don't freak out, or anything! Look, from what we know, we were a being that lived outside your body in a different realm from yours. We were travelling and crashed into you, we think. Our soul must've gotten stuck inside of your body, and now we can't get out... The thing is, we weren't very powerful before we got stuck, so we were unable to fight your soul's influence over ours. We lost our memories to make room for yours, so we don't know much, other than our name and origin... Uh, are you alright?

Ellis: Yeah, I'm really too tired to care. To be honest, I feel like if I think about all of this too much, I might get a headache.
YM: So that means you're okay with us being here until we find a way out?
Ellis: As long as you don't do anything embarrassing, I'm fine with it.
BM: Thank you so much!

> Go to the fridge and grab the syringe and chemicals.



Ellis walks over to the fridge and opens the door, finding the syringe and chemicals. He sticks the needle into the top of the bottle of chemicals and pulls the top of the syringe up, filling it with pitch black liquid. He is truly armed and deadly.

> Check the door.



He tries to open the door. It's locked. Why on earth would someone lock him in a completely empty room? Something's fishy here. From behind the door, he can hear a man (?) whistling a nostalgic tune. He knocks on the door and calls out from inside the room.

Ellis: Hello? Can you hear me?
???: Hmmm? Who's that I hear?
Ellis: Oh, great, you can... Alright, I'm trapped in this room, can you please help me get out?
???: Hmmm... I dunnow, can I?
Ellis: Seriously! I've been in here for a long time! Or atleast, I think I have...
???: Sure, sure! But... Do you have anything you can give me in exchange?
Ellis: Is this really necessary?
[color=#a61c00???: I don't know, is getting out of the room really necessary? I need money, you need to get out of a room, I think it's a fair trade![/color]
Ellis: Ugh, fine, I'll find something.
???: Hehehe.

He looks on the floor, seeing two papers. He picks the one on the top off the floor and starts to read it. Some of the words are smudged out.

The... is doing... I ... his... the other day... absolutely perfect. However… liquid coming out… mouth... I’m hoping... blood from… guinea pigs… check up… daily… immune system… abominations.

... After reading that, he's not sure if he wants to read the other one. He then notices that there's a dollar in between the two papers! How convenient!

RM: What exactly do you remember, kiddo? Sorry, I just gotta know.
Ellis: Nothing at all, really. I only really know basic things, like how to speak, how to breathe, how to walk, those things... It's rather cumbersome, now that I think about it. I won't be able to properly tell people where I came from or what I set out to do.
RM: Do you even have the slightest idea about what you're supposed to be doing? I get this feeling you were meant to do something.
Ellis: ... No, not really. I have that feeling too.
YM: Hey, Ellis!

YM: I have so many questions to ask you! Okay, okay, first I'll start off this one question. What's your favorite animal?
Ellis: Uh, is this necessary? I have to get out of this room, so...
YM: C'mon, please answer! We're probably going to be stuck in your head for a while now, we might as well get to know eachother!
Ellis: Uh... Dogs, I guess.
YM: Great! I like birds. But dogs are pretty nice too!
Ellis: Listen, I'm really tired, so if you could be quiet, I would really appreciate it.
YM: You're tired? I have just the trick! Do you like cheesy pickup lines?
Ellis: Cheesy what?
YM: Great! Ahem... BABY, ARE YOU A CRADLE? BECAUSE YOU'RE ROCKING MY WORLD! AAAAAAAAAAAA.
RM: Please make me shut up.
BM: *sigh*
Ellis: How exactly is this supposed to make me awake?
RM: Just... Just go and put that damn dollar under the door.

Ellis walks over to the door and hesitates for a bit. Can he really trust this person? He can hear him (?) humming the same tune as before while tapping their foot against the floor to the beat. Ellis starts to talk.

Ellis: ... How much do you want this dollar?
???: Hahaha. I'd literally kill for money!

They don't sound like they're kidding.

Ellis: Well, okay... How do I know you're not going to run off with the money as soon as I slip it under the door?
???: Hahahaha.

???: Kid, I'm gonna tell you right here that I don't break promises. I'm not that kinda person. In this world, it's eye for an eye, and in my terms, it's money for a favor. I'm not some dirty thief. However, if you even think of pulling some funny business on me, I will not hesitate to flay you right here... Capische?

Ellis quickly puts the bill under the door without hesitation. The man (?) behind the door laughs and takes the bill as quickly as it was put under the slot. Ellis feels his heckles rising as he hears the unnerving laughter.

???: Excellent! Boy, I haven't had to reduce myself to threats in a while. You just heard a once in a life time spiel, kiddo!

Ellis hears some scraping and keys jingling.

The door opens and he is met face to face with a short... kid? (???) They look up at him mischeviously, the look in their eyes not matching their appearance or stature.

???: Heya! You're out, as promised, kid! By the way, my name's Mydantia, but you can call me Myda. I'm a shopkeeper, but I do a bit of grunt work here and there. Hahaha. Also, sorry for acting like an asshole. I get really scary when it comes to deals.

Their voice is slightly less terrifying than it was before. Ellis can feel his heckles lowering. However, the feeling of fear is replaced with the feeling of awkwardness. He's not sure what to say. He looks to you for help on what to do next.

YM: Hey, Ellis! Maybe you should test out your insanely cool pick up line that you received from me?
RM: God no, don’t.
BM: Please.
YM: Just say “Hey baby. Are you a cradle? Because you rock my world!”

Ellis: Uh. I guess?
Myda: PfffHAHAHA. Wow, I haven’t laughed that hard since that time Kosmo fell off a ledge! Tell you what, you amuse me, so I’m gonna help you out of this place. Free of charge!
Ellis: Isn’t that just common courtesy?
Myda: What’s that?
RM: Okay. Nevermind, he's not evil, just an asshole.

Okay the deal is that you're actually Multus, who is a three headed being from another reality. You accidentally got into Ellis's conscience, and due to your low power, your conscience merged with his, meaning you know everything he knows and you have lost your memories. Your best bet is to help him while you try to find a way to leave his conscience. If you have any questions about this, ask in the spoilers.

It's nice to see this restarted! But the yellow text on gray is really hard to read...

Alright, so I'm moving back here. Why? Because Omegaupdate's formatting system is actual hell and I have no idea how to use it. I'm sorry for going back and forth between the forums, it's just that finals are here and I haven't been able to get organized for Chrometia.

Myda: Finally, we're getting a move on! This is a big building, so it's probably going to be a bit before we get outside. Anyways, so the other day me and my buddies were on break and all of a sudden Kosmo thought it would be a great idea to test out some deadly chemicals!

Myda: Of course, me and my other friends Cebrian and Umbra were telling him not to, but sometimes the guy doesn't listen. He ended up exploding some stuff! It was hilarious. Of course, we did get in trouble with the big boss... Hey, why'd you stop walking?

Ellis looks across the hallway to see that Myda is gone. He feels himself getting angry and confused. Why did Myda leave without saying anything? Maybe it was because he took too long, but it was still a dickish thing to do. He huffs, but stops moving, hearing a light shuffling from behind room 101.

???: H-Hey! You already took my blood today! Why are y-you still here?! Go away!

Ellis: Wait a second, you've got the wrong idea. I'm not a doctor.
???: R-Really? Who are you?
Ellis: I'm a patient as well... I think. My name is Ellis.
???: A... patient? Did they take you too?
Ellis: All I know is that I'm a patient.
???: ... Okay...
Xax: Um, m-my name is Xax, Xax Rhys. I'm 10...
Ellis: It's nice to meet you, Xax. Are you alright? I heard you crying before.

There is a slight whimper from behind the door as if Xax was going to start crying again.

Xax: Every day, the men in masks come to take my blood. They took me from home... I just want to go home and see my big brother again...
Ellis: ...
Xax: Please help me, Ellis. I'm so scared...

Ellis considers helping the little girl, mulling it over in his head. She might be sick, but it also sounds like they don't exactly treat her well in this facility. Should he help her?

>Yeah, let's help her out. This place is dodgy, and that (arguably hot) orderly does not exactly fill you with confidence. Why would he be helping you to get away if his job is to look after patients with dementia?

Ellis tries to open the door, but it doesn't budge an inch. When he looks closer, he sees that there is a small, almost unnoticeable screen* on the door. It seems that he would need an ID card to scan into doors like this one.

*Note: The artist was too lazy to draw said screen.

Xax: Okay...

... Ellis is confused at the notion that he would even try to flirt with Xax, or even anyone.

Ellis: What is your deal with "flirting"? I really don't get the point of it. Is it a good thing?

It could be that Ellis' amnesia is a little bit more severe than originally thought. Flirting is probably one of the things that he does not know about.

The next hall is slightly more dimly lit than the last, somehow. There is one door. A thick gunk of colorful liquid is seeping out from behind it and it has no labels. At the end of the hall is a dark colored bag with a white x on it. Perhaps Myda left it behind.

>A free bag, score! Now you can carry more than things! Maybe there's a flashlight inside?
>Peek through the leaky door. Is it a cleaning supplies cupboard?

Voices in Ellis' head: Immediately give him an impromptu lesson on the art of flirting.

Look inside the bag first before deciding to take it or not
