Run the train backwards into the fireplace.

This couldn't be a fireplace because there is no chimney. This is evident from how the shadows are cast on the hearth.

Running it backwards would be very dangerous.

The coals are hot to the touch. You lose a heart and you right hand is out of commission. It'll stay like that for a while.

If only there were a safe way to light the candles.
