Hello and welcome to the application topic! Here you are able to post any applications you filled out even if applications are closed. If you need help with applications, are unsure if your ideas make sense, or just have no idea what you're doing, this is the place to be! Anyone at all can comment and give their ideas in.
Do note the application topic is not a submission area, thus here all your applications belong to purely yourself. To actually submit the application to me you'll have to wait for the appropriate time and pm it.
For the sake of ease here's all the Fortuna applications. If by chance you post anything that isn't a Fortuna application we will probably sit around and appreciate it anyway.
If you have any lore questions you may ask them here to make sure that your application's lore will be oked. This helps you make sure your application isn't rejected and you're forced to wait a month+ for a reopening.

I really enjoy that he's going on an adventure to finish what his friend started seeing as Tourists tend to die when they see the "Most breathtaking spot" ever. Poor fella must have died before the tourism killed him though.
Here's a quick doodle I did of the guy for fun.

Traits:
[Negative] Selfish
[Negative] Easily Stressed: Wandreni has difficulty if more than two important things are on his to-do list.
[Neutral] Beak: Cannot make W, P, V, B, or M sounds, but the short beak can deliver a cutting bite.
[Neutral] Curious
[Neutral] Literal-worded: Does not use figurative language.
[Positive] Interpreter
[Positive] Bird: Aside from the wings and excellent sight that his species possesses, Wandreni feels a kinship with avians. +1 Charisma when speaking to feathered species.
[Positive] Honest: Wandreni believes that even harsh truths can be told kindly, and will only lie if telling the truth violates a moral principle of his.
Physical description: Short-cropped head feathers, dark green tendrils, dark gray wings.
Personality: Wandreni is a character of opposites, as he is usually standoffish when doing work, but enjoys exploring and meeting new individuals. He hates hearing of religions, yet adores talking about his own. Wandreni is selfish by nature, but dislikes this trait and seeks to reverse it.
He can be calculating when calm, but may lose himself when excited.
Backstory: Wandreni was one of the earliest Jerce hatched off-planet. During his youth, he lived with his mother on a trade ship where she worked as a stock manager. Life there was not terribly good, but not terribly bad either. When he became of age, Wandreni began to tire of his life and went in search of new things. He found himself fascinated by the robots and machines that would frequently be on his old ship. He lived on Mypace for less than a decade where he worked as a freelance mechanic. He found this unfulfilling, and wished to put his mental talents to good use. So he gathered up his funds for an off-planet flight and studied the art of language elsewhere. (Tweeps were more concerned with brevity as opposed to eloquence.) For the past twenty years, he had been both teaching and learning grammar structure, spelling, proper speech, and many interplanetary languages. The irony of this is that Jerce are often stereotyped as being speech-defecient, due to their inability to pronounce labial sounds, and the fact that the majority of them do not even speak English. However, Wandreni never lost his passion for mechanics, and earns extra income by repairing and maintaining electronics. In this, he found a friend in the form of an L-Tariok, who he shares common interests with, and Wandreni wishes to help them find a purpose to their controlled, factual life.
Special: Wandreni worships a god of his own creation called Shirofeu, a mammalian dragon of truth and fire. Wandreni wears a necklace comprising of a lone Yang, separated from its counterpart. By peering through the hole, Wandreni claims to be able to detect truth and predict the future. The validity of this claim is dubious, as he has been right as often as he has been wrong.
He also has the capability to process the Tweep accent better than most as a result of his extended time around them.
RE: Application review and appreciation topic - Gimeurcookie - 12-08-2015
@The Flower King
I really like the history of Wandreni! I think it's interesting that he has his own created god which opens a lot of fun options when talking to him. It's also cool that he has a neat flip side where he does a lot of stuff he wouldn't want others to do such as talking about his god to people while not caring about others talking about their gods to him.
I also like that you gave him a meaning for his existence, it really helps me write a character and place a character when I know what their motives for even being alive is. (I mean other then the death thing sure must suck!)
@Wheat
While complex I really like all the playstyles one can use K~L for! It reminds me of more advance version of moodmeter and makes K~L clearly seem like a character for more advanced players.
Other then that I love the bit of oddness thrown in like "Face has Mood Activated Googly Eyes of Sensitive Understanding and a disarming smile" and "A favorite jape to pull is to hang up a hollowed-out fake orange, which unscrews to reveal a real orange" It really makes them a character I really want to write, in fact I do have a spot or two I need filled for a certain event that may happen later on and I'm thinking of using K~L and Wandreni cause they come in a really nice package already!
Really it'd be cool if more people got their characters together to make "crews" or groups. I know in the past people have submitted whole crews to me but I'm always picky about using them as a package as it ends up being just one person who got to make 4 - 5 characters when I could just ask 4 - 5 people to make one characters and thus get a little more cool dynamics and also avoid everyone being just 1 species.
Also that little bit about the robots (Which I love, I love robots that seem to be made for no reason/do nothing/do something absurd like constantly cry) can just be slapped at the end of personality.
RE: Application review and appreciation topic - Fellow - 12-16-2015
I've thought up a pair of characters thinking about what I could do with the [moodmeter] trait.
One's a disraced diplomat who very quickly becomes undiplomatic when she loses her temper:

Traits and personality:
[Infamous]
[True pacifist]
[Calm]
[Hard bargainer]
[Street smart]
[Motivated]
[Social]
[Moodmeter]
[Uncontrollable mouth]
Beithea is a diplomat who wants to keep peace and make the world a better place for everybody. Beithea also thinks she is better than everybody else, but she usually manages not show it. The exception happens if she gets irritated. In that case she can't help but slip into a rant about how the other person (and anybody unfortunate enough to be related to them) is horrible.
Physical description: A female Athonea in a fancy, tieless suit.
Backstory: Beithea was a negotiator of moderate import working for her race, up until her superiors were so pleased with her that they had her lead an important negotiaton. Beithea had been making deals with reasonable people untill then, but this time around she had to endure an obnoxious, smelly, ear picking pest. She spent half of the meeting insulting the other party, and finally had to be escorted out. This resulted in a war that killed hundreds of thousands of people. The Athonea promptly disassociated themselves from her, she now works smaller gigs, praying she is not recognised.
The other is sort of a support character who hangs around another person and brings them good luck when she's in good mood, but is an absolute pest otherwise.

Gender: Female
Job: Tagalong/janitor/dockworker
Stats:
Strength- 7
Intelligence- 3
Charisma- 2
Endurance- 5
Agility- 1
Luck- 12
Traits and personality:
[Misantropist]
[Easily stressed]
[Frequent sleeper]
[Dependent]
[Pacifist]
[Humorous]
[Moodmeter]
[Luck share]
[Cruel]
Unlike other Geckerchauns, Kilenne has no desire to amass wealth, or any goal in her life whatsoever. In an effort to distract herself from this she tricks herself into liking one person, even though she hates people as a rule, and then starts rooting for her new best friend. Kilenne switches best friends often, since she has a very unappealing personality. If she has nobody to cling to, Kilenne will make no effort at doing anything exept lash out at others.
If Kilenne is bored, she will try to amuse herself by insulting people, sabotaging them and generally being [Cruel]. This is problematic, since Kilene will easily stress out if she feels like she has a lot on her plate. When she is happy, her luck rubs off on her friend.([Luck share])
Though she would enjoy having something horrible happen to a person, she doesn't want to get her own hands dirty. Kilene does not consider herself a pet anymore, but she will still do pet-like things ocassionally, such as napping everwhere and eating tablescraps.
Physical description: A brown Geckerchaun who wears a dark pink hooded coat with black dots.
Backstory: As a first born child, Kilenne was sold as a pet at a young age, to somebody who died similarily young. Her owner told her their heirs would take good care of her, but instead she was starved in a dark cellar for days before being thrown into the big bad world. Kilene has not been fond of people since.
RE: Application review and appreciation topic - nonexistentPumpkin - 01-02-2016
Here's a species I've been working on for the next time apps open up. I haven't really thought much on the personality of the common Spoopers so there's not much there yet.
Name: Spoopers
Physical description: Skeletons with gourd heads, or more accurately, gourds with skeleton bodies. They grow around the skull of other species' skeletons and use them as bodies, holding them together with vines and moving them with weak psychic powers.
Diet: Candy. Lots and lots of candy.
Personality & Traits: Spoopers have a holiday where they scare eachother for fun and give free candy to anyone who's a good sport about it. Problem is, they will insist that it's always this holiday, so they're always trying to make people scream. On the bright side, free candy.
Common traits: (I can never think of these.)
Average Lifespan: 50-70 years (? idk I just pulled that range out of nowhere)
Home Planet: SPOOKUS SCARUS SKELETUS will send shivers down your spine. It is a war-torn world that now mostly contains ruins and Bloops, as there is, ironically, a complete lack of usable skeletons. It is rumored that there may be remnants of whatever species Spoopers got their skeletons from before they reached the space stage, but it's just a rumor.
Oh, and there's trees that grow candy, so there's that.
History: After an event long ago that they call "THE SKELETON WAR" (and will not elaborate any further on), most Spoopers fled their homeworld and have been "bringing holiday joy" to the universe ever since.
Subspecies:
Boneheads: Boneheads grow entirely inside the skull of the skeleton they use, and have stronger psychic powers to hold up their body without any vines. They also appear to have an "eye" when they use particularly strong powers, although this is just a glowing spot caused by the exertion. Unlike their spooky scary brethren, Boneheads like to make people laugh rather than scream. They love telling jokes, especially puns.
Bloops: A Bloop is what happens when a Spooper does not get a body of any sort and roots itself into the ground. They have the strongest psychic powers out of the 3 subspecies, however they have little desire to use it for much more than projecting a psychic "ghost" with a limited range of movement. They will also mark their territory in some way, whether it be a simple line or erecting walls around themselves. They would likely keep to themselves even if they could move around on their own.
Special: They love making elaborate costumes for spooking people, and are quite good at it. (So good in fact that the entire species is prohibited form entering cosplay contests in many major conventions across the universe.) If you need a disguise a Spooper is likely the best one to make it, just don't use the word "disguise" when asking.
RE: Application review and appreciation topic - The Flower King - 01-06-2016
A bit too blatant, but I did get a few laughs reading that.
RE: Application review and appreciation topic - Fellow - 01-30-2016
You know, maybe sometime a bunch of us should go get together to create a race, robot stream style.
RE: Application review and appreciation topic - Gimeurcookie - 01-30-2016
I need to go read through the recent apps later but I like the idea of the stream species building, maybe we could do that for this month's patreon stream if a live update stream doesn't happen this month. (which I have a feeling won't happen.)
What's great is apps open after planet 2 and the planet coming up is planet 2 so it works out time wise.
RE: Application review and appreciation topic - Fellow - 02-19-2016
Here's a totally original creature that I made up:
Show Content
SpoilerName: Space Bear
Physical description: Space bears look like giant bears. They excrete a trasparant, spherical film from the base of their necks around their head to protect their face from space debris, this film resembles a fish bowl.
Behavior: Space Bears fly around space, hunting smaller space fauna and ocasionally chalenging ships. Space Bears are increadibly tough and will destroy most smaller ships with ease and can even give the larger ones trouble. However, it's possible to send someone out in space to wrestle a space bear, which'll back off if they win. It's important to note that space bears do not care at all for someone's physical strength; The only thing that successful space bear wrestlers have in common is that they are charismatic speakers.
Danger level: High to very low depending on weither you have a politician on board.
Habitat: Space

I had an idea of an extremely anonymous species.
ALSO THIS IS NOT FINISHED IN ANY WAY WHATSOEVER!

Name: Anon
Physical description: The Anon are rather bland. Most will be standing at 7 feet tall, but their defining features are a full-black cloaks, accompanied by a blinding white mask. This mask holds all of their individuality. All of their creativity, motives, passions, hatreds, and personality all compressed into one mask. Because of this, they treasure the integrity of their mask over all else, in every situation.
Diet: While Anon rarely eat, as this would require removing their mask, they are fully omnivorous, and can eat all rations, their mood will not be impacted by food conditions.
Personality & Traits: The average Anon is very shy, straying away from social activities, but are very obedient
Common traits:
[antisocial]
[obedient]
[not picky eater]um??? i guess???
Average Lifespan: 160-210 years
Home Planet: Fairly Earth-like, their planet is 1.2 astronomical units away from their sun, and their planet is 1.4 times as massive as the Earth. Their home planet has been desecrated by wars
and natural disasters, and is only ever used as a connection point to another planet.
History: Originally, they were not anonymous. This identity-revealing disposition is greatly frowned upon, and as such nothing else is known.
Subspecies: Occasionally, an Anon will be extra daring and wear a dark grey cloak. The color is so dark, however, that it's the difference between Vantablack and a black hole.
Special: Some say they are all connected via a hive mind, as multiple Anon can often be seen working in perfect harmony with each other.

RE: Application review and appreciation topic - TangledAlmond - 09-26-2016
A year ago I created an app for a species called "Spirits". This was a Halloween species that was made at the same time as Spoopers (which you can see above). I GOT THE IDEA AFTER PUMPKIN POSTED IN FORTUNERDS CHAT, BACK WHEN FORTUNERDS CHAT WAS A THING,
[9/23/2015 8:30:24 PM] an unholy demigod joaje: now I want to make a species with competitive Halloween romance
I didn't know Pumpkin was actually following through with this idea and making another app for a Halloween species at the same time, and we made these separately without realizing until later.
I ended up scrapping this app because I think I ended up going too crazy with it and created a system for how souls function in Fortuna as well as the species, which I realized was probably overstepping my boundaries. Since the species was based heavily on these soul mechanics, and since another Halloween species was being made, I scrapped it altogether.
Even though this is a scrapped app, I'm not putting it in the up for grabs topic, as I don't want people to co-opt this. Pumpkin can co-opt some of this for Spoopers if you want though, I guess.
Anyway, I'm talking too much. Here's the app:

SpoilerName: Spirits
Physical description: Spirits are immaterial pieces of consciousness, and therefore do not have a physical form when in this state. However, in their physical form, they take the form of a floating jack-o-lantern. Most spirits also use telekinesis to keep a cloak underneath them, in such a way that it looks like they were wearing a cloak. You can distinguish different spirits apart by the color of the light in their jack-o-lantern, as well as the kind of cloak they choose to wear.
Diet: Being balls of consciousness they do not require any food.
Personality & Traits: In their initial form, spirits are simply pieces of consciousness with no physical form; able to go anywhere but unable to affect the physical world in any way. A spirit's physical form is attained at its homeworld, Pumpville, where pumpkins tailored to having spirits inhabit them are grown. Spirits who live here ready pumpkins for inhabitance by carving faces in them. Spirit sages then perform a "rebirthing ritual" in which spirits connect with their pumpkins for the first time. Connecting with their pumpkin gives a spirit more strength, allowing it to perform telepathy and telekinesis to interact with the physical world.
In their physical form, pumpkins can perform telekinesis. This telekinesis is not strong, as all of a spirit's energy comes from a pumpkin, so a spirit can usually only control a few items at once in addition to their pumpkin head and cloak. Basically, their telekinesis doesn't let them do anything to objects that a regular physical being wouldn't be able to do with their hands. They also cannot use their telekinesis to move other beings, as they cannot affect other souls. However, they can use it on robots.
Spirits with a pumpkin can also use telepathy, allowing them to psychically communicate with other beings. They can communicate with any soul no matter where they are; however they are not able to communicate with people whose soul they don't recognize, as they simply don't know who to look for. They also cannot transmit their thoughts to robots, meaning they must find other ways to communicate with them.
When a spirit connects with a pumpkin, the extra energy they received causes them to emit light, making it look as if a flame is burning inside the pumpkin. The color of this light is determined by a spirit's aura, and it therefore varies from spirit to spirit.
A spirit is able to make facial expressions due to the holes that are carved into its pumpkin on Pumpville. While the facial expression of a jack-o-lantern cannot usually be changed, when it is linked to a spirit, the spirit is able to use telepathy to change the surface of the pumpkin into the facial expressions it wants. Pumpville pumpkins are grown with malleable skin in order to make this possible.
Spirits are able to leave their pumpkins, but only for a few hours at a time, lest their pumpkin starts to rot after being separated from the spirit's life energy. Although they do not need to sleep, spirits often leave their pumpkins at nighttime when others have gone to bed, so that they can explore around them without any physical limitations. Once spirits have been rebirthed into their pumpkin, they gain an innate connection to it, and so will always be able to find it again now matter how far they roam. This innate connection also prevent other spirits from using or moving another's pumpkin when the spirit leaves it.
In physical world terms, a spirit is considered "dead" (AKA no longer able to interact with the physical world) when its pumpkin is destroyed. Due to the energy exchange between a spirit and its pumpkin, the pumpkin will never rot, but it can be destroyed by any normal physical means. While the pumpkin's cultivation and extra energy does make it more resilient than a regular pumpkin, it's still a pumpkin and can still be destroyed by anything that would kill another person.
When a spirit's pumpkin is destroyed, the spirit still exists, but it loses its ability to interact with the physical world. While a spirit is technically able to get another, they would have to go to Pumpville to do so which may be lightyears away from where they died. In addition, getting a second pumpkin is frowned upon by spirits, as it is seen as taking away resources for new spirits. Spirits with a second pumpkin have also remarked that it "just doesn't feel the same" and often lose the zeal they had to interact with physical life because of it, which is the whole reason spirits get pumpkins in the first place. As such, when a spirit loses their pumpkin, they no longer see living in the physical world as a possibility, and so simply see it as "their time", and let their souls be dispersed into energy throughout the universe like what they believe happens to physical being's souls. As such, if a spirit's pumpkin is destroyed you should consider them dead.
Spirits can sense souls, meaning they are able to tell when other beings are nearby. This also means they are able to detect spirits who lack a physical form. They can also recognize a person's soul meaning that if they've met someone before they will know who they are just by their soul.
Spirits believe in a sort of energy that is dispersed throughout the universe. They say that when any living being dies, their soul is dispersed into this energy that then spreads throughout the universe. Whenever this energy is concentrated, it turns into a new soul, and this happens whenever a being is born. However, with all of this energy flowing throughout, it sometimes also happens by itself randomly, and a soul is formed randomly without a body. This, they say, is how spirits are born.
Spirits are often amoral, as they place heavy significance on the flow of energy throughout the universe, and believe that the physical world doesn't matter as much. Spirits can of course form opinions and start caring about "physical matters" as they call it but in general spirits view physical issues as insignificant. They are simply in it for the experience.
Home Planet: Pumpville, a planet solely devoted to growing pumpkins for new spirits and suiting them up for their journey into the physical world, and the only inhabitants are spirits who have chosen to take on these duties.
People have said that the name is kind of weird, but spirits named it that way to make it distinct. You won't have any trouble remembering that Pumpville is the pumpkin planet for spirits.
History: Older spirits claim that spirits have existed since the universe has, but that they failed to make themselves known due to the fact that they cannot interact with the physical world. They say that the most they can do in that form is make people get a weird feeling they were being watched. Once, it is said that a spirit found a pumpkin patch, and soon discovered that due to the chemistry of the pumpkin, they were able to form a symbiotic relationship. The spirit's life energy let the pumpkin stay fresh off of its stem, and the pumpkin's energy granted the spirit more power, letting it perform telepathy and telekinesis. This made it so that the spirit would be able to interact with the physical world. Over time, a colony of spirits settled on the pumpkin patch planet and cultivated it to grow pumpkins for more spirits. It soon became standard to carve faces in pumpkins that spirits chose, so that they would be able to communicate emotion to other beings, and to "wear" cloaks to make them more distinct. With their new physical forms, spirits quickly redispersed throughout the universe they came from, eager to interact with the physical world they had been exploring for so long.

Spoiler
Name: The Crawling Ones From Planet Z (Crawlerz, TCOFPZ, etc)
Physical description: Crawlerz start their life as a pudgy, hairy larva creature with limited vision and movement. At about 5 months of life, the Crawler then buries it's self into the dirt, creates a cocoon, and dies from suffocation. Then about another month later, the Crawer then reemerges as a large, undead spider-like creature, reanimated by the spores found in the planet's soil.
The Crawlerz possess four arms, and four legs. While their primary arms stay at their sides, their secondary arms stay folded against their back. These secondary arms are tipped with a needle sharp claw that can deliver a mildly venous but nonfatal sting. A Crawler may possess from 1 - 8 eyes, almost never symmetrically placed and may end up anywhere on their heads. Their lower jaws are incredibly small, often covered up by their large, jagged teeth on their upper jaw. Crawlerz, being undead, may be in various stages of decay and could be missing patches of hair, eyes, limbs, skin, etc. An adult Crawler can grow to be at least 7 feet tall, although claims of seeing Crawlerz as big as 10 - 15 feet tall have been rumored.
At a certain point of a crawlez's unlife, a mushroom(s) will begin to sprout out from the top of their heads. From this point on the mushroom steadily grows in size and numbers, and ultimately leads up to the Crawlerz's second dead once having consumed their brain.
Visual Reference:
Show Content
Spoiler
Diet: Omnivores, but preferably decayed/rotted food over fresh.
Personality & Traits: Crawlerz are most characterized by being slow, both in movement and mind. Whether this is due to feeling comfortable with this slow pace living or the fact that there is literally a mushroom rooted into their brains is unclear. Motor skills vary, a Crawler can be exceptionally agile for their species, to only being able stumble from place to place, often with a limp or stagger. Same goes for the processing of information, while some could have a sharp wit, others may be completely unaware of their surroundings. For example, a Crawler may be hit with a blunt object and it may take several minutes before they realize that someone had even hit them. Despite this sluggish demeanor, Crawlerz excel in jobs that require repetitive tasks with clear instructions.
For the rest of the universe, there is a stigma placed on the Crawlerz species as being mindless flesh-eating monsters. This is partly true- after what their race calls 'Second Dead', a Crawler may raise up from the dead again under complete control of the mushroom growing in their skulls. Second death Crawlerz are violent, feral, and nonverbal aside from screeching and clicking. These Crawlerz crave meat for the rest of their ‘lives’ to feed the mushroom growing into their bodies. First death Crawlerz live alongside these monsters peacefully, as they only hunt for living flesh rather than their decaying kin. First death Crawlerz even regard second death as an ideal future, and celebrate the reanimation of their loved ones in ceremonies comparable to that of birthday parties.
Both first dead and second death Crawlerz share a fear of fire, while their living infant counterparts are fatally attracted to it.
Common traits: [Differently Abled] [Detrivore] [BO]
Average Lifespan: 4 - 5 months. Undeath may last up to 500- 700 years, second undead lasts indefinitely, until the mushrooms have decomposed the corpse in it's entirety (even the bones).
Home Planet: Planet Z; a planet mostly hidden away by clouds, fog, and space junk. Due to this heavy cover, little sun light reaches this planet and causes it's fauna to come in mostly shades of grey or washed out colors. The weather of this planet is consistent of uncomfortable humidity and having storms every other hour.

---------------------------------------------------------------------
Common Jobs: Repairman, Factory worker, manual labor
Likes and Dislikes:
Likes - Large crowds, Elevator music, The occasional need to dance
Dislikes - Being alone, People who talk too fast, Being rushed
Base Stats: Strength-8 Intelligence-4 Charisma-3 Endurance-8 Agility-1 Luck-2
Attack Method: Stingers on the tips of their secondary arms can temporarily incapacitate a foe.
Trivia:
- Before the discovery of the Crawlerz became widely known throughout the universe, the distribution of Crawler larva as a 'cute pet' became popular for their low maintenance and their ""cute"" appearance. Needless to say, most owners of these grubs were shocked when after only a few months the larva eventually buried themselves alive and died without warning. Although far more uncommon these days, some shady merchants may still pass off the grubs as pets to uninformed strangers.
- The mushrooms that parasitize (or one may argue, symbolically live in) the Crawlerz does not infect any other known species. These mushrooms have become a rare delicacy in some parts of the universe, and have said to have medicinal or even magical properties, including extending one's life span, heal injuries, or promote one's growth.

I can't speak for Hichico but I know that in regular Fortuna it's very frowned upon to reveal your characters' apps. If you do, your character gets changed or moved to the background while another character takes their place.
I think this rule makes sense. If I were to reveal that Rivet had [Madame Rivetington] and was actually a very charismatic metal bolt, it'd ruin the suprise, right?

Ah, thank you.
Also, I really want to start a fanadventure of my own... but I don't art good.

Okay so I've had this App on the shelf for a while and I figure I might as well get an opinion on some of the stuff before I submit it.

Spoiler
Name: The mafleeca
Nickname: Mafia Sheeple
Physical description: The mafleeca are sheep-like humanoids with glassy white eyes brown wool, dark grey skin, hooved legs and curly horns on their head. The mafleeca always dress for rainy weather, with trenchcoats being more formal than raincoats. The mafleeca consider rain ponchos to be increadibly casual, so it's rare to see them wear it unless it is especially hot and sunny out. The mafleeca don't have any sexual dimorphism, but females usually carry around an umbrella's. A female without an umbrella is simply dressing like a male, and the same goes for the reverse.
The older a mafleeca gets, the more they will grow their fur and horns out. Mafleeca may get punished by being shaven clean and having their horns clipped off.
Diet: The mafleeca are omnivores.
Class: Lower class
Rarity: Uncommon
Personality & Traits: The mafleeca are very group oriented and will become incredibly insecure or paranoid when they're not involved with a group, be it as the president or the janitor. Most don't mind being alone so long as they act on a group's behalf, however. Most mafleeca have incredibly tight familial bonds and keep in touch with their relatives. mafleeca families are always feuding and mafleeca spend most of their early lives unable to trust anybody who is not related to them.
Mafleeca fully mature at the age of 20 but are only fertile between the ages of 80 and 90, and even then they have to navigate through the hostile relations between families to get a suitable mate. When they do succeed in mating, both the male and the female and can birth several large litters of children untill they are rendered infertile. Parents hold a lot of sway over their children, and mafleeca grandparents can have a small army of relatives at their call.
While they can become quite old, average lifespan of a mafleeca is 30 because of their tendency to get into fights. It's even worse on their home planet, where a third of them don't even reach adulthood. Mafleecas' life expectancy actually goes up as they get older, and it shoots up drastically once they start having children.
Mafleeca grow out of larves that hatch from eggs, which they put in the center of large balls of food that the larvea eat on birth. The mafleeca have studied the effects of different foods on their spawn and will alter the contents of the balls if they have a shortage of mafleeca with certain skillsets. They have no issue with mafleeca hybrids, but if one were to artificially create pureblooded mafleeca, they would attempt to kill both the creator and their creation to preserve mafleeca culture.
Mafleeca are generally pleasant to be around but they will very quickly turn to lethal force when threathened, or when one undermines the group they've chosen to associate themselves with. A mafleeca toilet lady would pull a knife on someone if they didn't put money in their jar.
Mafleeca love art and tend to collect music, paintings or sculptures. mafleeca artists are nearly nonexistent, however, and the race only discovered art after they were introduced to space travel. Mafleeca are usually good at cooking, and will quickly become depressed if they are forced to eat bland food.
Mafleeca generally employ Hypnos units and the Thanatos units that come with them. Because of this mafleeca are not fond of robots that won't play music for them. The mafleeca are nocturnal and can see well enough in the dark, but they prefer artificial lighting.
Common traits:
[Cooperative][Loyal][Killer]
Lifespan: 250 years
Home Planet: Shearattle is a rather large planet where it always rains.
The planet is covered with tightly packed cities full of overcrowded apartment buildings, streetlights and drainage systems. The mafleeca have converted some of their buildings to casinos and restaurants. Because the locals leave visitors alone so long as the visitors do not interfere with them, the planet makes for a good place for a holiday despite the rain, but as the mafleeca families are continually fighting over territory, one may find one's waiter shot in the head and replaced with another between the first and second course.
Most of the uncivilized areas of the planet are kept covered in swampland to deal with the heavy rainfall, though some of the uninhabited space is also taken up by big industrial farms. The swamps are nearly devoid of dangerous creatures as the Mafleeca have in the past killed every animal that so much as looked as if it might threathen them.
The planet's main export is cheap liquor as most Mafleeca households have a makeshift brewery. A mafleeca would never drink this swill themselves. They do have breweries making more expensive liquor. Shearattle also produces a small amount of unmeltable steel.
History: Mafleeca history consists mostly of mafleeca overreacting to slights against their family, and trying to raid and take over the territory of the offending family. The mafleeca wars calmed down somewhat after they were discovered by spacefaring species, because they started to respond to overpopulation by sending some of the excess mafleeca into space rather than persuing territory more agressively when a family gets too big.
Subspecies: Black-fleeced mafleeca have black wool and clay brown skin. They are extremely rare, and will be the only child in the litter if they do get born. This is because black-fleeced mafleeca are cannibalistic and their pitch black larvea eat their brothers and sisters upon birth. Black-fleeced mafleeca are as lucky as they are common and if a disaster befalls the mafleeca, a black-fleeced mafleeca is usually the one to blame.
Though they may not be gifted in the luck department, black-fleeced mafleeca tend to be incredibly hardy, having sufficient regenerative abilities to cope with lost organs and limbs. Back-fleeced mafleeca are usually sent to live in the swamps until their family calls for them. Black-fleeced mafleeca can reproduce just like normal mafleeca can, but their children are often frail and blind or otherwise disabled.
One can force a litter to produce a black-fleeced nafleeca by putting some mafleeca meat inside the food ball, but nobody wants to. For some reason enslaved mafleeca will produce entire litters of black-fleeced mafleeca when allowed to breed. The larvea from these eggs are hazardous as they eat any organic matter and will not stop eating for days after their food balls run out. For this reason slave traders don't tend to let their nafleeca breed, but rather buy stolen eggs from the mafleeca themselves.
Special: Mafleeca are normally not especially light sleepers, but telling a mafleeca to wake up will wake them up immediately without failure.
Mafleeca will sometimes mistake geckerchauns for close family, and keep insisting that this is true despite all evidence to the contrary until the geckerchaun themselves tells them otherwise.

Trivia:
Ocasionally, mafleeca will become homesick when they are off their homeworld and may shower with their coats on to reminisce.
Mafleeca get very flattered when they're hired as bodyguards. Since they're always willing to fight for their teammates, to them a job as a bodyguard is like being paid just to be around.
The mafleeca mostly trade with the volkronn, as they both share a willingness to kill over business, not mention a love for warm clothing. Groups that try to mess with the volkronn's ruthless business practices need to be wary for mafleeca hitmen, and the volkron have some ships aiding the mafleecas' understaffed fleet to protect their intrests. Even though they look out for one another, having a volkronn as a boss is still draining for most mafleeca, despite their fanaticism.

notes
So there's a couple of things in here I'm not sure about.
For one, their looks.

old species sheet I made a long time ago
The mafleeca are mostly just antropomorphic sheep at the moment. I want them to be sheeplike, naturally, but I feel like they could do with being a bit more alienish. I feel like adding extra arms would be too similar to the Kounini and I don't believe extra legs would suit them very well. I have considered adding extra eyes.

Spoiler
And while I wanted to give them some degree of homogenity(they are sheeple after all) I think maybe the hands in the pocket/always in raincoats thing might make the way mafleeca behave a little restrictive.
Now, with the black-fleeced subspecies, I thought it would be neat to have a black sheep subspecies that caused bad stuff to happen, but I'm not sure the healing factor they get in return isn't an overcompensation.
The thing where the black larvea pop up with slavers is kind of there because between their loyalty and their high breeding output they'd make for an ideal slave race and I didn't intend them to be.
RE: Application review and appreciation topic - Gimeurcookie - 11-03-2016
The mafleeca are pretty neat! The tell gender via what they're holding thing is strange but I dig it, sort of like an extreme version of purse holding being considered a feminine thing. For the black sheep thing you can always go with high stress during pregnancy causes the mafleeca to have more aggressive offspring as an old genetic survival trait.
As for blacksheep traits, I suggest just giving them [Black Cat] + 0 luck. Seems to be on the nose with the theme.
As for the alienfiying stuff I just went ahead and doodled you a few things. Not sure if any are good or not but feel free to take one or none. I think the mafleeca can pass pretty okly right now.

Spoiler
1. This is just a normal one.
2. Gangsters make me think of smoke. Maybe the mafleeca are able to breath smoke / are constantly breathing smoke as some sort of defense?
3. This is just a geck wearing a wig. But nah really, maybe the mafleeca can wear simple disguises and for some reason come off as another species?
4. I went more with the cloud sleep thing, as maybe they're more closely aligned with hypnos and thanotos? Basically their weird clouds which emit off of them can make people sleepy. Basically counting sheep but the sheep are you know, the mafia.
5. I was thinking of submitting a sea goat species but I'm sort of delaying it cause I have another species to submit. But yeah maybe these guys have only just recently evolved from sea to land (or land to sea), causing them to have spotted scaly skin and yet oddly soft wool.
6. I tried to do something with the whole, bug sort of thing they had going on? Didn't work. Toss this one out.

So I'm planning on submitting some revised homeworld apps for my two species, I just finished with the one for Oerson, and given the nature of things, I'd like some additional opinion.

SpoilerName: Oerson
Nickname: The Land of Science and Madness
Quote: Visit Oerson! Live in Oerson! Have your life changed forever in Oerson! -Oerson Board of Tourism
Dominate Species: Vaeri
Other Species:
Fauna: Photosynthetic Beings, Giants, Abominations
Weather: Tropical; Warm and Sunny, with abrupt rainstorms
Danger level: High
Purpose: Vaeri Homeworld, SCIENCE!
Description: A small blue/green/violet tropical planet covered in rain forests and taken to an almost omnipresent state pleasantly warm daylight due to the particulars of it's orbit and rotation. Like many tropics, however, it is prone to almost schizophrenic changes in weather. One second it's a pleasant sunny day, then the next, a rainstorm shattering down as though the spiteful blows of an angry god, and then the next, it's calm again.
The planet, is as said, mostly covered in tropical jungles, most not quite dense enough to block out the sun. It is broken up by a handful of plains and clearings, most of which have been claimed by urban development , or destroyed by mad science. There surface is mostly land, with what passes for ocean on the planet, amounting to a series of large rives snaking between the two polar regions, making the planet resemble a melon from space.
The poles are the most noted departure from the norm on the planet. The South pole, is nothing so much as a large lake, distinctly colder than the rest of the planet, but hardly what one would call 'arctic'. The North pole on the other hand, is a mountainous frozen wasteland, covered in a vibrant blue stone and ice, and infested with similarly blue skinned giants.
As the Homeworld of the vaeri, it bears the marks of their inhabitance; much of the land is covered in vast, yet open, urban megalopolises, teeming with scientific and pseudo-scientific institutes, and both function and tasteful glass domes. Outside these cities the land is marked with the evidence of strange science, with ruined 'secret' labs, forever blighted plains, strange craters, none of which are as abandoned as one would like.
The Planet has Seven moons, three of which were blown up at some point and became rings of multi-colored rock around the planet. Of the remaining four, three are largely mined out hulks of pretty rock, and the fourth, the largest, is controlled by a bunch of weirdos who hate their kin.
History: Prior to the vaeri, the Oerson was idyllic, if rather schizophrenic, as most creatures were less than predatory, most creatures lived peacefully alongside each-other. Then the vaeri came and screwed up the place real good, it would be some centuries before the coming of the 'Great Unifier' Ugeniux forced the psychotic weirdos to get their act together and not completely destroy their planet, this period was known as 'The Age of Dark Science'
Afterwards things became relatively quiet, by vaeri standards, with the most notable thing to come after being 'The Great Moon Crusade' where vaeri, who had fled to the moon during the troubled times before the Unification, invaded the planet. Many lives were lost, many horrors were created, and in the end, no one really 'won' and the two populations exist in a tense state of cold war, not that the Oersonian population seems to care or notice, it's rather one sided actually.
Locations:
-Iconix: The Capital and largest city on the planet, Iconix is a gleaming metropolis filled with wonders and monuments to scientific achievements. Some of the Universe's most esteemed scientific institutions are located here, as well the least, and some of the strangest, and most specific. The skyline is dominated by a tower known simply as 'Capital Spire' where the High Adjuntive rules the city, and nominally, the planet. As the capital, the Iconix is the most strictly regulated arbitrated city on Oerson, they won't tolerate any of the weirdness that flies on most parts of the planet.
-Siconia: The first moon of the planet, a large rocky sphere with limited Oersophorming giving it thin atmosphere, forcing the inhabitants into bio-dome cities. Ages ago, the satellite was colonized by a group of refugees from the planet below who were tired of the madness that seemed poised to destroy their kin. Today, after the disaster of 'The Great Moon Crusade' The locals have become insular and isolationists, only begrudgingly allowing outsiders for the purpose of trade.
-Mount Azuria: The Largest mountain in the planet, located in the North Pole. A massive snow and ice covered mound in the north, it is 'ruled' by a race of blue giants, and is rumored to contain legendary treasures of the forgotten age of Dark Science. Some even hold that the crystals in the region have strange properties. Nobody knows, because the giants kill anyone who tries to get there.
Special:
Giants of the North: In the planet's north polar region are a race of blue skinned giants known as the azur-gigas, enormous cyclopean beasts that seem more akin to ambulatory mountains than living creatures, coated in ice and with skin indistinguishable form the blue stone of their home. Little is properly understood of these creatures, as they repel any and all attempts to get near them, let alone collect them. They may be related to the comparatively more common and benign azureclops, but this remains unconfirmed.
Trivia:
-Most of the planet's native creatures are considered endangered due to the presence of horrific and highly predatory abominations that have intruded into the formerly sedated natural ecosystem. This isn't considered that concerning, as due to the creature's incredibly accommodating need, they've been easily introduced on less hostile worlds.
-Most of the fauna on the planet is photosynthetic, and most of the rest are electrovore and/or symbiotic. This has allowed the planet's native fauna to spread to just about any environment.
-The photosynthetic animals on the planet are not plants. The Oerson board of tourism is very adamant about this.
RE: Application review and appreciation topic - Gimeurcookie - 11-03-2016
@Blizz
You app is looking dang good! Other than a few minor changes (aka some words are capitalized mid sentence which I can fix) there's nothing I would change. It's the perfect balance between awesomely funny, strange, and serious! But mostly absurd, which fits those guys nicely.
Love that they blew up some moons, it's just every mad scientist's dream to do such things.
RE: Application review and appreciation topic - Fellow - 11-03-2016
Ooh, those are some very neat ideas Gime. I think the thing where they breathe smoke would add to their mafiosity and make them suficiently alien-like, though I kinda like the idea of sleep inducing sheep people too and I think I might turn those into a subspecies.
The idea of a species that can disguise themselves as others, especially if that species has a tendency towards criminality and agression, is a pretty intresting one as well, but I don't believe it suits the mafleeca.
I'm not sure if I'd need to include the black cat+0 luck thing in the entry of the black-fleeced ones as well but you can probably sort that out when I submit the app.
