Derrick: Don't bullshit with me Alice.

You remove the board sealing the closet door shut with your bare hands... You have suspicions... Are they true?

It's Dark. Musty. Weirdly reminds you of your bedroom. It dawns on you that just as your room is dark, while your closet was your glimmering safeplace, Alice's room was the exact opposite, how uncanny. In so many ways you two are strikingly similar.

As your eyes adjust all you can see is a box on the top shelf.

In this moment you have become Alice. You don't see much room to wiggle around this question, and you don't think it would be appropriate after being caught once already. A spark inside you lights as you are willing to accept the fate of your actions.

1. This is all. (Lie)
2. There is more. (Truth)
3. Delay with Daydream.

if alice lies, derrick might know, and then it'll be worse

RE: Lucidstuck II - Fellow - 03-22-2022

Talk with daydream first, at the very least we can lower the blow to her.

The same goes for Dash, she votes >3.

Seconding.

Daydream might have a better handle on this, especially if given some lucidity. Unfortunately alice needs some of her lies to stand so that derrick can live. Krem is perceptive enough to understand the nature of derrick and nightmare, and I believe won't press for info that'll lead to the construct's collapse

RE: Lucidstuck II - ReedRGale - 03-23-2022

>3 And bring Emily for a second opinion.

This seems like something that we should talk with Daydream about before doing because this involves her secrets too. Gotta make sure we're not doing something too distructive.

Of note, I figure this is why she hates cats and where Darko comes from. Where Derrick's act of violence made him feel scared of his own ability, Alice's had her feel something else. Maybe nothing, maybe excitement, maybe she did it in self-defense (in a kid's mind) and she doesn't like facing the consequnces.

All v potentially interesting.

Dude, the construct is resting exclusively on Derrick's willful suspension of disbelief. Don't chip at that.

>1
Derrick can do this with his words. I don't think chatting with Alice means pretending everything is all right.

please guys. please, this

RE: Lucidstuck II - Panur - 03-26-2022

i'm picking alice intermission in the wild hope something happens that derails this shitshow, because no matter what we pick we fucked

> Would it be possible for you to explain to us why this is?

RE: Lucidstuck II - TerraTorment - 03-28-2022

>Alice.
>If you lie, everything will be worse.
>If gramps doesn't come back today, and you lie, Derrick will know, if not now, eventually.
>The truth always comes to light, you can't escape the consecuences of your actions forever.
>If you have any hopes of ever even remotely having a normal sibling relationship with derrick, you will tell the truth, and you will accept whatever he decides to do afterward. We will make sure that he does not kill you, at the very least.

RE: Lucidstuck II - Fellow - 03-28-2022

>Be careful here. Derrick has been calling Alice's bluff as of late, are you sure he will accept these lies?

>I should explain why he has been doing this. Derrick has been talking to his shadow, which is among other things a representation of his willful supressing of information and thoughts pertaining to your(Alice's) actions. Ignoring the shadow is what allows lil mal to act on you, if you're wondering why we didn't steer him off that. So knowing that Derrick won't put in his share of the effort to gloss over any discrepancies, are you sure Derrick will believe Alice if we get her to lie?

RE: Lucidstuck II - HayDay - 03-28-2022

>How about we have Alice ask derrick to speak another time. That way we know that you are ready since you are also responsible for this.

RE: Lucidstuck II - calescentInfernum - 03-28-2022

> Daydream, something. What can you tell us about Derrick? Who was he to you? And more than that. Do you think you can lie to him like that? He's tapping into every repressed suspicion that you've been lying to him all along. Like it or not, the water's boiling, and the frog needs to jump.

//Countering Hayday's silencing. This is in conversation with Daydream. All voices speak.

RE: Lucidstuck II - Unnoticeable - 03-28-2022

>Alice. Currently, Derrick's shadow is in control of him. So any bullshit you try to slide on by him will never work. He'll see through it instantly. Currently as far as I can see? The best case scenario is that he leaves. The worst case scenario is that he murders Alice.
>Where is Emily? Isn't this the sort of stuff you have her for?

RE: Lucidstuck II - Will Phoenix - 03-28-2022

>We are currently debating on whenever we should tell him the truth or lie. Nonetheless, we've been backed into a corner. Tell a lie, Derrick –which is being intentionally irrational by a part of him he had suppressed till recently– will call our bluff and everything goes to shit. Tell the truth, everything goes to shit anyways.

>I'd like to say that the reason Derrick is acting, as you say, irrational, is because that part of him was let loose due to Alice's own lies and his frustration. He's, in the most basic term possible, furious.

RE: Lucidstuck II - TerraTorment - 03-28-2022

>what if derrick can tell the lie, what if derrick figures out the truth himself later, what if he asks again later?. How can we lie, when we don't even know the full truth ourselves? why isn't gramps back yet? this whole situation right now is about him, derrick expected him to come back today and yet hasn't.

RE: Lucidstuck II - Fellow - 03-28-2022

>If you send us back, and you haven't convinced us that lying won't be worse than the truth, we may opt to tell the truth. You seem to think that the consequences of that would be quite dire, so maybe you should try your best to convince us. We're here to investigate our options, and 'Lie because I said so' does not give us a clearer picture.

>The secret that Alice wants to tell here isn't that she killed gramps, is it? Derrick seems to know that on some level already. How could Alice's reveal be worse than the murder of his caretaker?

>Why could the truth here unravel the construct anyway? It's not like Alice knows of the constuct, so she can't exactlly go and tell Derrick about it. Did you just throw that out in a panic?

RE: Lucidstuck II - ReedRGale - 03-28-2022

> It's understandable that you're upset. This seems to be something very raw and emotional for you.

> Personally, I think the best way to avoid the situation is to have Alice admit there's more to the box but that it's something she's not ready to face. That's perfectly healthy. We all have secrets and it's not Derrick's right--or ours--to know them.

> However, there doesn't seem to be a good reason to keep this hidden as far as we can see. The nature of the construct makes it so there aren't any holes to poke about the nature of the false reality save someone actively bringing it up. Given that, it's hard to see how this secret could do anything that'd threaten the mission.

RE: Lucidstuck II - amobiaman - 03-28-2022

>there are factors at play here that you seem to not understand. That’s fine. We wish to help you. Once we all understand what’s going on, we can properly work together. Stay calm and work with us for a bit to properly come up with something.

> You want us to help you come up with a lie, so we need to know more about what you REALLY know about derrick. We understand your powers work on lies and everyone here wants Derrick to live, Derrick/Nightmare included.

> we really need you to know that shadows are an important part of staving off lunacy and achieving greater potential through lunacy, like god tiering without ever dying. If you aren’t convinced of their existence or power yet, confront your own. Sit with yourself and dig deep on who you really are and what you really know. You seem surprised with the way Derrick is acting, you may find answers if you cooperate and dig deep.

>as a show of good will, some lies we could use should directly invovle derrick’s questions on why gramps is not coming back. “Gramps died in an accident” “gramps missed his flight home” “gramps has been in the hospital all along.” None of these feel too good. We need your help formulating a lie, and a plan for if it doesn’t work.
