Metal Slug is probably a more apt comparison but I haven't played any of those games so
And yeah, I'll withhold my judgment until I see more gameplay. I just love the art style though. I can't think of any other game that's used it.
The scanlines are a bit baffling - maybe they were trying to imitate the look of film grain? I dunno.

I suspect perhaps not for a generation or two, if that. Sexism (and basically all the other isms) is pretty ingrained in the culture and consumption of gaming as a whole.

thinking about it a lot of nintendo games rely on the premise that X is missing/stolen and you have to get it, princesses, bananas, baby luigi/metroid...

So I finished the Bravely Default demo. Seems fun, but I have to ask:
Is there an actual reason why they aren't calling it a Final Fantasy game? Or did the developers think they were making a Final Fantasy game and only later find out that this wasn't the case?
